We stayed 4 nights and they were redoing the roof. They never told us in advance. It was so loud from 830am to 4pm everyday we were there. Very frustrating that they didn’t have the decency to inform us so we could have made different arrangements. We did finally speak to the owner before check out and he I offered a free night if we come back, but only through a verbal agreement. We were not given a physical credit. We will not be staying here again.

Rustic charm
It was our 20th wedding anniversary. The place is jsut a bit off the path of the downtown area. We wanted to honestly have a romantic relaxing vacay. So this spot seemed perfect. Its rustic charm suits the area quite well. They were very respectful of having our service dog I always appreciate. I think they are actually dog friendly. Bu a comment they made which is I think lovely especially in Carmel. The place has a cute little area that you could picnic etc or enjoy coffee but sadly they were under construction due to a tornado messing their roof up. Also was very dusty but I’m sure this was due to construction.So we were not able to take advantage of it . We couldn’t find anything else do to the short notice but also they were very kind and did let us know if we wanted to cancel we could or get a little discount being the short notice we did opt to stay. So bummed that we couldn’t take full advantage of the place but obviously couldn’t be helped nature has a mind of its own. Parking is the only I will say if you have mobility issue can be tricky. Fortunately I was with my husband who can drop me off and do all the lifting so not to big of a deal but something to keep in mind. They do have a fridge which was very nice I do wish they had a microwave at least in the lobby or something is the one thing I will say I think they should invest in. But the do have. Little coffee maker in the room so that worked out fine for us. All and all a lovely stay thank you

I love the wayfarer hotel the staff as well cause they are all so polite and work with you on any need you have :) and the area itself is very pretty close walk to shops restaurants and the beach

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fireplace provided plenty of heat. Sadly the bathroom needs a serious renovation, the tub and shower caulking and tile were very old and dark, the bathroom door frame is disintegrating. We would stay again because the people are kind, but we hope they can do some upgrades to room 15.

I would never stay here again. It took 20 minutes for the hot water to heat up. The bathrooms were not ADA compliant. The mattress was the worst I have ever slept on. It was so hard and uncomfortable. Sadly there is nothing I would recommend about it. The fixtures were old and in poor condition. It’s a shame that they don’t fix it up.

We picked this place for its affordability when we had planned a spontaneous trip down to Carmel. We didn’t expect it to be as great as it was! Very clean, the front desk people were helpful, it was really quiet and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to in the area. Parking was also easy. There are a lot of stairs though, so I would consider that if you have special mobility needs.

I find Carmel best when you can stay within walking distance of downtown. Wayfarer Inn is clean, convenient and usually has among the best prices in town. The rooms are large though furnishing and amenities are spartan. It's a great choice if all you care about is a bed, shower and table for your computer.

Great little spot in town with a parking lot (a major plus!) and street parking with no time limit. The receptionist was warm and friendly and extremely helpful. The two bedroom family suite has a king bed in the main living area with 2 twin beds in a private bedroom. There is also a small fridge which is convenient for any leftovers or bottled water or other drinks you have during your stay. There are a lot of stairs which was fine for us but probably tough for those with mobility issues. Great stay overall and walkable to everything in town with restaurants as close as 1 block away.
