The property was fine when it comes to bang for your buck. Unfortunately during our stay the water was shut off for the property, then the water had crazy amounts of dirt in it. The next morning there was no hot water. Having a toddler with us, this wasn’t ideal. The staff never notified us, we contacted the front desk via my cell phone because they unplugged their front desk line and I was given an “oh well not our problem” type response. Being that we had a toddler we checked out a day early, when asking about a refund for the unused night they told me to contact Expedia. When I contacted Expedia they needed to coordinate the refund with Red Lion and the hotel was unresponsive so I’d have to wait up to 72 hours for a resolution. The hotel room was ok, the couch was filthy with stains all over, white stains which left me eery to have my kid sleep on it. The amenities were scarce. Tweakers hung out in the parking lot during the day which also made things uncomfortable. I probably wouldn’t stay here again but the location of the property was convenient.

Outdated, severely stain curtains and shower floor. The room did not have any extra toilet paper we tried to call the front desk from the room and kept on getting busy signal, so I we had to use our own phone to call the front desk. When I asked for toilet paper the receptionist said to go find a housekeeper. They told us our room was scheduled for housekeeping but all they did was leave toilet paper. Bathroom door would work properly. The entire hotel felt sad and outdated, we will not stay here again.

When I arrived the front desk told me that they’re not having power 8am-2pm the following morning. So that changed the morning routine. The fridge still had stuff in it and there was a dirty towel in the shower

This place is a disaster
The room was small the marks of blood on the curtain, the walk oiy patio door opening to the outside stairs was left open, the sink in the toilet was in the corner you could hardly use and the toilet seat being defective could not be left open to urinate cleanly. All night long the drunk teenagers next door were throwing up and flushing the toilet which disallowed us to sleep. Why pay so much for this mess??

We arrived at the Red Lion Inn in Monterey, California, about an hour and a half before our check-in time. While the host acknowledged our reservation, we were told to return in an hour and a half without any offer of an early check-in option, even for an additional fee. This lack of accommodation was disappointing. Upon entering our room, it initially appeared clean and well-kept. However, we quickly discovered that one of the blinds was missing, and the rest of the blinds were faulty—they only worked in one position and would immediately fall back if we tried to adjust them. Additionally, the restroom near the office smelled terrible and was poorly maintained. It was clear that upkeep in this area had been neglected. Finally, while I respect the rights of others to smoke, the persistent smell of marijuana throughout the night made it difficult to enjoy our stay. For the amount we paid for a one-night stay, we expected much better. Red Lion Inn, you need step up your game.

Good for the price of 100$.
Overall hotel is fine. Couple things could be improved:slow drain in shower, broken body wash dispenser, barely working AC. Overall it has good location , nice staff who cares about cleanliness.

Location was a plus. Close to major attractions. Rooms were not serviced during our 3-day stay. Bathtub backed up during showers. Mold on ceiling in bathroom. Floors not clean - socks were black. Door difficult to open. Front desk poor service due to shot staffing (we ran out of towels). Building needed major maintenance and repairs. Overcharged for the quality of the stay.

The place was too noisy. I could hear my neighbor's conversation all night. Also they placed me near the hotels laundry facility and there was noise coming from there too. They offered a small continental breakfast, it was very small and only was on saturday morning. Sunday there was none.
