Our house is located on the outskirts above Lodève on a small lane with temporary traffic trip to the monastery Grandmont. The house is a renovated, modernized old "mas", which has been used as a holiday home for over 100 years. It bears the beautiful name "Les Châtaigniers" (chestnut trees). The property is designed to a small Mediterranean, terraced park and opens into a sprawling olive grove with additional fruit trees and vines. The site has more than 40 southern European species of trees like old laurel, strawberry and beech trees, mulberry, cedar and cypress. Depending on the season, fruit may be harvested by stealing food (figs, persimmons, pomegranates, etc.). At the highest point of the property is a garden house allows a magnificent view of the city, the cathedral and the surrounding mountains.

Description of the house:
The lower floor consists of a large "remise" that can be used as a garage. Here also a washing machine and a gas stove are installed. Part of the coach house has been converted into a holiday apartment. It consists of a living room with sofa bed for 2 persons, as well as shower and toilet and a kitchen with dining area, a cot can be placed in addition. A storage room is located next to the entrance. A large tiled garden with trees, vines and rose beds is available to the tenant alone. Barbecue.
The upper floor is the apartment of the owner's family.
The Place:
Lodève has a good infrastructure: 3 supermarkets, 2 hospitals, specialists, known museum, restaurants, bars daily. Every Saturday is in the city center market, also with products from organic farming.
The town center on foot 10 minutes. The place has moderate through Tourism.
Surroundings:
The Lac du Salagou is a water sports paradise for swimming, surfing, sailing (including the necessary courses), fishing, often for the Guinness Book of World Records, no motorboats .; Early and late season are excellent for hiking, cycling (esp. Mountain biking), horseback riding, climbing, kayaking and canoeing, collecting fossils and minerals, visiting Romanesque churches and monasteries, dolmens, prehistoric and Roman settlements. On the Causse are old pilgrimage stations. Nearby known caves await visitors.
With Montpellier, Nimes, Bezier, Millau are attractive major cities within reach. Within 15 minutes you are by car on the Causse de Larzac, in 45 minutes on the Mediterranean.

- Pas trop de détail sur l'équipement du logement sur les informations ABRITEL (ex: Couvercle micro-ondes, Poêle qui accroche). - Manque au moins une autre casserole plus petite. - Cuisine très humide avec salpêtre au plafond qui tombe sur la table de cuisine (avons trouvé des petites limaces noires). - Manque des barreaux à la fenêtre de la chambre qui nous oblige a fermer les volets pour raison de sécurité et le soleil ne rentre donc jamais. - Rajouter une moustiquaire à la fenêtre de la chambre qui donne directement sur la rue. - La personne qui nous a réceptionnée a été très serviable, agréable et à l'écoute.. très bien.

Un ravissant pied à terre bien placé
Ma fille et moi sommes sous le charme de ce séjour dépaysant. Nos hôtes sont très avenants et bienveillants, merci pour tout à eux. Nous étions vraiment bien dans ce pied à terre bucolique ! Le jardin est époustouflant ! La maison est située à proximité de quantité de choses à faire en voiture dans les environs (lac à 12 mn, ballades, ...). Je recommande avec plaisir !

Très bon logement, pour couples, petit mais fonctionnel. Très grand et beau jardin avec vue imprenable sur Lodève. Propriétaires sympathiques. Seul bémol la présence quasi quotidienne du jardinier la dernière semaine de nos vacances soit le matin assez tôt soit en soirée assez tard, pas terrible si l'on souhaite être tranquille, sentiment d'être surveillé ... Sinon très bel endroit que l'on recommande. À noter proche centre ville 2 mn en voiture. Vie nocturne inexistante par contre l'été ( hors festival résurgences).
