it was ok for 3 nights and for 1 person
this us a small hotel being renovated during my arrival. My room had a plumbing issue and cause carpet to get wet and frontbentrance carpet was wet. i had to place large towel in floor in order for me to avoid getting feet wet although i wore my sandals. my mattress was slanted and i had to sleep in middle of bed to be balanced. i got what i paid for.

First time in Montreal. Parking was a bit crazy as it’s in the Grande Biblioteca or grand library but next time I will know. Amazing, amazing location! Step out the front door in the evening and you can smell 20 different kinds of food (all within 50 meters). Walk straight down Rue Saint Denis to La Ronda to see the fireworks in the summer on Thursdays at 10 PM As an American, for some reason my phone WiFi worked everywhere in Canada except for Montreal….so downloading address from map or reservations will help. The staff is amazing and the hotel is a little older but the location is top notch!

Night clerk was very pleasant and my shower was hot … that is the good. Very uncomfortable old spring mattress beds, very slow WiFi and no in room temperature control as well as no private parking. Was am to pay for overnight parking a km walk away.

Thanks to the staffs for their help. However, the lack of elevator was a great problem, especially if your room is on the fourth floor. Also, not sure why the room was not cleaned regularly. The location and surroundings are great though.

Doable
The rate was likely too expensive for what you get (then again, it is the cheapest hotel near downtown Montreal, so you can take what you get). Staff were alright (kept to themselves, helped when asked, neither friendly nor rude). The room itself was clean enough for a comfortable stay (and the shower had hot water, which is great), but otherwise the hotel is in a worn condition (stained carpets, wall chips, etc). Depending on who you are and what you want, the location is perfect (on a very lively and loud street; not recommended for families with young children or for anyone who is uncomfortable seeing/being near homeless people). I would stay here again for one or two nights if I intended to enjoy the lively street (but if I had more money, I’d maybe pick something a bit more upscale for the sake of comfort). As the title indicates, this place is doable.

Property is close to restaurants etc. but late night noise is terrible….between 2:30 and 3:30am yelling, laughing, swearing etc right outside of your window. Property was relatively clean. Top sheets of the bed were clean but the sheet covering the box spring was filthy with stains. Would not return.
