Just minutes from breathtaking Moonta beach, Inglenook truly captures the spirit of life on the Copper Coast. Combining the historic charm of a century-old miner’s cottage, yet newly-renovated to impeccable contemporary standards, our cottage is perfect for your next holiday on the Yorke Peninsula.
Situated on the main artery through Moonta, George Street, Inglenook is close enough to the town’s renowned cafes and restaurants to stroll down in no time at all, while far away enough to enjoy a blissfully-quiet night in the garden.
Self-contained with everything one would expect in a high quality renovation, Inglenook offers more, without losing touch with its heritage.
Comprising two bedrooms — one Master, offering a Queen-size mattress; and one Double, consisting of two long singles — both of which are larger and more private than one might expect for a traditional cottage of this era. Inglenook can comfortably sleep five in total, given the single sofa bed in one of its lounge areas.
If reclining with a book on holiday is your idea of a break from reality, Inglenook can accommodate you — even if another guest has the same idea. With two peaceful indoor seated areas, both well-lit with antique fireplaces and Persian rugs, you’ll unwind in no time at all.
You can escape from it all on the couch by streaming movies on the TV from the Chromecast, courtesy of Inglenook's free unlimited internet. All you need is your own smartphone or tablet and you can stream services such as Netflix* and YouTube.
The shaded front patio is the perfect place to watch the world go by over breakfast, while the back garden’s open-beam sheltered area — with its bespoke lighting, gas hood barbeque, and seating for all — is the ideal place to end your day on one of the many local beaches.
Back inside, the tastefully-refurbished bathroom offers unpretentious luxury, tiled in the Victorian mode: the walk-in shower, opposite a classic, freestanding clawfoot bathtub, are matchless for your well-earned relaxation. There is also a separate toilet.
The kitchen is cosy, providing everything required for your holiday: a gas stove, convection microwave oven, air fryer and large fridge freezer, plus Delonghi coffee pod machine, with pods provided for arrival.
The off-street driveway can accommodate two cars, plus another in the carport. There is plenty of room for a small boat with trailer, and several parking spaces on the road.
Further amenities include ducted reverse cycle air conditioning (though, the stone cottage stays cool in the warmer months), a HD television with Blu-Ray player, an iPod docking station, board games, and plenty of books to read.
Inglenook has laundry facilities, including a front load washing machine, iron and ironing board, and undercover washing line.
All linen for provided for your stay is crisp white hotel quality (sheets, pillowcases, towels and tea-towels), but guests will need to bring bedding and linen if using the sofa bed, plus their own beach towels.
Inglenook is located just a short walk along Moonta’s main street, minutes from the town’s shops, restaurants, and heritage buildings. Just a short drive away is the Moonta Mines National Heritage Area, the Moonta Bay and Port Hughes beaches, and the free ‘Splash Town’ water park.
