A SCAM?
I booked this property to bring my family for a nice beach getaway. I've used VRBO in the past and have always had good experiences.
This was the worst I've yet had.
In short, I never even got to see the property. The phone number on the VRBO listing was a false number, not related to the property. Trying to contact the owner/manager through the app also did not work. No one sent anything in advance on check-in or even location (there is no address). And I wasn't about to drive hours in a foreign country to a place without an address and no one to call.
The worst part is that when I called VRBO they told me they couldn't help - and that I was out of the refund/cancellation period. I had to escalate to supervisors to get resolution and even now, two weeks later, I have received nothing.
STAY AWAY from this property ... and frankly, don't ever use VRBO unless you have verification, directly from the owner, of the legitimacy of the property. Otherwise, you may be out of your money - or left out in the cold.
