About this property

The Inn @Uncle Bob’s. A 1930s Self-Cater Cottage.

About this space
Two and half hours from Nairobi, The Inn is nestled on the lower side of Lusoi farm right by a river on what was the extension of the original settler house on the farm. We estimate the original structure was built in the 1930s making this building almost 100 years old. There has been many iterations and uses of the the building over the years including a bunker to hideaway during the struggle of independence. The cottage is right by the barn and you may encounter our farm animals.
The space
You've just been handed the keys to come stay at your "favorite Auntie's" weekend country cottage. Please treat it as such. Beautiful art, collectibles, plants, flowers, locally made beds with wood from the farm and luxurious furnishings all combine to create a cozy and stylish abode.

There's four large bedrooms that can sleep 2 each. Two of the rooms are interconnected making them ideal for multi-generational families and groups of friends who don't mind sharing. This is an old house and we've done our best to repair and make it livable without gutting the entire inside. There's 2 shared bathrooms and 1 en-suite bathroom.

The Inn is a perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. Cyclists, bring your bikes, hike-explore the farm, take short and/or long walks, switch off and reconnect with nature and yourself and cook- you can buy farm produce directly from our farm.

A cleaner is on-site for the day-to-day general cleaning. You can also request a personal chef for an additional fee or order food in advance to take with you through our sister site Leah & Gibson.
Guest access
Enjoy your morning coffee on the patio, or a picnic in the gardens under mature trees. Take walks by the river, sit or meditate by the Mugumo tree. In the evening sit by the fire-pit and watch the stars come out. Listen to the sounds of nature. The bird life on the farm is unparalleled, from Secretary Birds, Buzzards, Hummingbirds, Sun birds, Hornbills, Egrets...once in a while we get wildlife: Serval cats, DikDik, Wild Hares, Sykes Monkeys, and the occasional Elephant...but it's been a while.

Run or walk the murram and grass 2-mile track around the hayfield with mountain views.

Book a tour with our staff to walk you round the cultivable areas. Because of spreading diseases, you may not be allowed into the actual farming area.

Book a tour to see the baby goats and lambs. Please do not approach any of the animals unsupervised and please do not feed them.
