I recently stayed at a VRBO rental property, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite a certification sticker indicating recent cleaning, the room was unclean and unkempt. The bed sheets were visibly dirty and unchanged, giving the impression that someone had been lounging in them while watching TV.
The bathroom was in a terrible state, with dirty towels strewn about and no toilet paper provided. To make matters worse, the toilet didn't flush at all (so my apologies for not fishing). Additionally, the trash had not been taken out, adding to the unsanitary conditions.
What's more, there was no host available to greet guests at the resort. Instead, I had to rely on the assistance of the resort bartender to gain access to a room. Shockingly, upon arrival, I discovered that my room had been given to someone else. After multiple attempts to contact the owners, it was revealed that they were out at a bar, seemingly unconcerned about the mix-up.
When I finally spoke to the owner, with the help of the barte their only concern seemed to be whether I was part of a wedding party that had booked the property. This lack of accountability and professionalism was disappointing, to say the least.
Furthermore, the kitchen area was dirty, and the air conditioning was not turned on until I entered the room, leaving it uncomfortably warm for several hours.
Overall, my experience at this VRBO rental was highly disappointing, and I would not recommend it to others.
