We loved this hotel for our 5-night stay in Naples. It was very clean, with one of the larger bathrooms and showers we’ve experienced in our European travels, and the room air conditioner worked great for the hot summer days. The hotel was in a great location in the historical center near all of the city sights we wanted to see. We used public transit for all of our travels from the hotel. Taxis stop in the nearby Piazza Gesu Nuovo (3 min walk). The hotel is midway between two metro stops: Dante is uphill from the hotel, Universita is downhill from the hotel, each about an 8-min walk away. We would choose our preferred metro stop based on the walking direction. There are lots of bar and restaurant choices within a 10-min walk. Breakfast is included but served at the Pin8 bistro/bar a half block away. The service at both the hotel and the breakfast cafe were great! The hotel is in an apartment building and is located on the third floor (0,1,2). The front desk is also up on the third floor, so you have to call ahead or use the buzzer when you arrive. Be warned, there is no elevator for your suitcases or if you have mobility issues. The nearby sights we visited by walking or public transit were: Museo Cappella Sansevero “Vieled Christ” Piazza del Plebiscito Galleria Umberto I Castel Nuovo Walk the waterfront Castel Sant’Elmo by funicolare cable car Pompei by train from Garibaldi station Amalfi by ferry We loved this hotel and would definitely stay at Santa Chiara Inn again!

Comfortable spot in a great location
Exceptional location. Inn is a calm oasis in a lively, atmospheric neighborhood. 5 minute walk to Metro, ATM, and other transport options and several local sights. 15-20 minute walk from ferry landing. Loads of dining, drinking and shopping choices close by, with a full range of prices, from fast food to fine dining. Room was spacious and nicely appointed, with effective A/C. Only caveat is no lift/elevator to 2nd floor, though Gennaro was very helpful with luggage on arrival.

First, the room was so small that we literally couldn't open our luggage up on the floor. We don't mind small rooms, as we don't spend time in the room, but this was ridiculous. It was a long walk from the ferry port, but the worse part was that there was really no way to get there without hauling our luggage up city steps. In hindsight, we would've taken a cab from the ferry. There is NO ELEVATOR, so we had to lug our very heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs! The lights for the building stairs are hard to find, so the first time we did this in the dark! There really is no staff. There was someone there to check us in, but left right after, and they aren't there at night (we know now to check for 24/7 Concierge). Although the bathroom is modernized, the room is just too small. Additionally, we weren't allowed to have any extra towels, pillows or blankets! The included breakfast is 3 buildings away in the Pin8 cafe, and only included a coffee and a pastry. The only highlight was the manager of the cafe sings and plays the piano (if you ask him) while you sip your cappuccino. Bottom line, make sure you get a hotel with an elevator, and stay somewhere else.

It was well located and within walking distance of many points of interest. The walk from the metro station is over cobbled streets and so not easy with luggage. The accomodation is on the second floor but there is no elevator so be prepared to tote your bags up there.

The main issue I found with the room was the lack of hot water, which is insane to think about how, in 2023 there isn't steaming hot water in the shower, the water at best was lukewarm. We did inform the owner the next day when we spoke to him at reception and he said he would have a look at the water temperature but when we got back after exploring Naples all day the water temperature was still the same, nothing had changed so, to be honest with you this did ruin our experience of the inn and for that reason, I won't be staying here again. Furthermore, we had to pay the city tax in cash which was inconvenient because I prefer using my card wherever I go on holiday and I never take out cash when I'm on holiday but they insisted on us paying with cash, which I thought they were being difficult as we stayed in Hotels on my our Italian tour in Palermo and Rome and none of they expect us to pay the city tax in cash. And one more thing there isn't a lift in the building so beware of that as it's not made clear on the reservation.

The inn is very lovely to stay at. The room was amazing, especially the walk-in shower with a rain showerhead. Gennaro was always pleasant and smiling, and even helped us carry our luggage up the stairs when we arrived. He also gave advice for getting around the city. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Napoli!

This property is a great place to stay. The staff was very helpful from getting luggage upstairs to finding us a taxi. The place was newly remodeled, and clean. The bar next door for breakfast was a gem. My wife has a gluten allergy and the bar owner would always have a gluten free croissant waiting.
