Driving along one of the prettier country roads in Brown County for only four short miles from Nashville, you’ll make your way to the pleasant log cabin known as Sanctuary, so named for the peaceful setting and comfortable nature of this vintage home. The visitor who appreciates antique furniture and artifacts will take delight in admiring the owners’ collections on display.

First of all you’ll find the screened porch that goes across the front of the house…it is, of course, complete with chairs and a swing for listening to birds in the surrounding wooded site. A large living room is nicely outfitted with a sofa & a couple of chairs around the stone gas fireplace. Authentic bead-board paneling, pine floors with braided rugs and cute little cabin windows take you back to a time when needs were simple. Satellite TV will keep you abreast of current events, if you find that you even care once you’ve settled in.

The spacious kitchen, which was completely remodeled in 2018, invites guests to whip up something tasty on the reproduction Country Charm stove, and then savor the results of the cook’s efforts at a huge table in the adjoining sunny dining room. This room feels like a big sunporch with its décor of stained glass and views to the woods located just a few steps outside the back door. Take a soak in the outdoor hot tub.

Pretty crewel-embroidered curtains and quilts on the queen-size iron bed provide a cozy theme in the master bedroom located through double doors just off the living room. Master bathroom (shower only). A second sleeping space is reached by climbing the stairs to the attic bedroom where a double-size four-poster bed and pretty antique dresser await guests. Another bathroom at the foot of the stairs is cleverly outfitted with a sink mounted in a wooden barrel… and lovely stained glass windows add rich color to the space.

Unfortunate Circumstances
This property is beautiful! The cabin is unique and very accommodating. The screened in porch is a nice touch for summer evenings as it has two porch swings. We really wanted to spend our weekend at the cabin but it had not been cleaned. And, it being a weekend and after hours when we finally arrived, we couldn't contact the office [there was no cell service]. We ended up staying at a hotel but I do not fault Hills O'Brown, I fault their cleaning service, which is why I gave it four stars. I believe the third party failed Hills O'Brown completely. That said, Hills made it right and refunded our money promptly and without hesitation. Next time we will book directly with Hills and find a cabin that has cell service in case this would ever happen again. Hills O'Brown is a reputable company that stood by its word and even though we weren't able to use the cabin, I would recommend Hills to other travelers.

Perfect Cozy Cabin
The pictures don’t do it justice. The cabin was cozy and quaint. It was perfect for two couples. The location was quiet yet just four miles from Nashville. The only negative was the mattresses were a bit worn and tended to dip in the middle.

So peaceful!
We loved this rustic cabin! The surrounding grounds were beautiful and larger than anticipated, which was great for our dog. Highlights were the huge screened in porch, lovely and well stocked kitchen, gas fireplace if the weather is chilly, and foosball & stories in the hobo hut! We used the downstairs bedroom and thought the bed was comfortable. The larger bathroom had good water pressure (almost too good!). We left a couple of feedback notes with the rental company, as we did experience a leak in the kitchen ceiling during a couple of exceptionally rainy days. The hot tub also seemed a bit old, as it didn't get very hot, and the jets weren't very strong. All in all though, we loved this cabin and would gladly return. Great that it is pet friendly, and we have ample room if another couple joined us.

The cabin was perfect, driving distance to Brown County State Park, lots to see in nearby Nashville, the cabin had a huge backyard with a pond In didn't know about, plenty of room for my 2 dogs! Would recommend to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay at your cabin. It was cozy and relaxing. Kitchen was well stocked eith all the utensils needed to cook all our meals. Everything was very clean. Wifi was good. Great proximity to Nashville for shopping and food! Big pluswecould bring our fur babies too. Only nehative was the downstairs bed. Very uncomfortable on our back. May need turned. Thanks again for the great time and memories.

Great spring break get-away in Brown County. Cabin had all the charm you could ask for. Close to Nashville and other Brown County spots, but far enough away to feel secluded. No internet and very spotty cell service, but we were prepared for that and had a great trip.

Love this cabin!
My husband and I stayed here with another couple over New Years. It was such a cute cabin, had a lot of character. The location was perfect! It was about 7 minutes from the strip downtown. We loved it so much we actually spent more time in the cabin than doing anything else. The pond out back was beautiful. And we loved the hot tub, used it a lot. It was perfect for a short weekend getaway. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and will definitely be staying there again in the future!

If you want to be TOTALLY unreachable, book this cabin and ignore my review
There is NO PHONE SERVICE. There is a LAN line but you CANNOT MAKE CALLS that are not local calls. You cannot reach anyone and you’re totally unreachable!!!! I travelled here, I am not trying to call anyone local. I talked to Hills O Brown about it and they asked what my provider was, then said that’s the only one that doesn’t get service there. The people working in shops at town told me that’s no true, no one gets service there. The other people with me had different providers and didn’t get service there. There was literally no way for anyone to reach us or for us to reach anyone. We had to drive 15 minutes to get a signal. I even hiked all around the property looking for a phone signal and nothing. If this was disclosed on the listing or in the numerous emails, I’d get it! Some people are looking for that time of disconnection for relaxation. If you are that person, this cabin is PERFECT for you!!!! We loved the cabin itself. We took this trip and had Thanksgiving at the cabin. We planned to FaceTime our family that wasn’t able to travel for the holiday due to Covid. I was literally crying on Thanksgiving because we were not able. No Internet is one thing, no cell service and no warning is absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, one member is our group at the cabin missed numerous efforts to get ahold of her. There was a violent attack on someone at her business at home and she was unreachable. Like I said, perfect cabin if you want no contact. Otherwise, this needs to be disclosed. With a regular phone line, we should have at least been able to call our loved ones. I am furious about this and the rental company simply did not care when I expressed this. I never plan to rent from them again and I’ll tell friends about my experience, which is very sad. They have beautiful cabins.

Truly a sanctuary!
This was a wonderful cabin! It had everything we needed. It is right off a road where cars drive through, but you barely notice most of the time. The trees and long driveway provide sufficient seclusion and privacy, and it is totally private in the other three directions.
