A dive. Old, decrepit. Wallpaper falling offwalls, bedspreads from the 80s. Disgusting place. Dirt build up in corners. Old, old, old.

The picture on line isn't even close to the actual room we stayed in. Our room was old and the only thing updated the sink and toilet in the bathroom. It reminded me of the Bates Motel in Physco. My wife wouldn't let me walk in bare feet. She suppected bedbugs, but none were found. Our friends shower curtain had mold on it.

Where to start? The smell of too much FABREEZ abated after opening a window for a while & was replaced by the oder of 60 years of tobacco smoke in all the soft furnishings! The carpet was suspect, the bathroom floor has not been mopped in some time. Removing my socks to get into the tub & walking on this floor for a few moments caused the water in the shower to run brown from the dirt my feet picked up. The new-ish tub surround has not been sealed to the bottom of the old tub properly so the bottom of the tub flexes up & down making it very unsafe.

The property is dated but tries to provide all that you could need for a quick stay. It’s dark and decor is old and mismatched but linens and towels were clean. Price is right if it’s a stopover and it felt safe. Owners are friendly and attentive. Easy check in. Bed was good. Close location to stores and restaurants. Lots of cabins on property— so I felt our room was trying to be similar to cabin needs. No coffee or tea which we would expect. Property needs TLC but it was ok for over quick overnight stop on way to PEI.

When I pay under 120$ for a room, I know exactly by experience that it’s going to be an old 60’s 70’s construction. With a minimum renovation and style accompanied by anenclosed odor but it is what it is. What I need are a clean bed, shower, heat/air cond and I’m gone. Travel solo so, no need glam and unnessary bells and whistles.
