Not what it seemes
Start off with the check in process. We didn’t get the information until 2 hrs before we got there and that is after we asked about it. When got there the room we were sent to had someone else things in it. Then when we given a different room it was not clean the floor had a layer of dirt on it, there was a big pale of hair in the bed, you can see through the door because of a crack along the side. The third and final place was clean but the fireplace bricks were falling out and instead of a table there was some creates and a pallet. We didn’t stay there at all we took a hit and got a hotel

Worst rental ever
First the all the access system was terrible, only having a phone made it impossible to gain access because you would have to go out of the app to get the code, then when you went back to the app it gave you another code. The host wasn't responding. it took 3 hours before gaining access which was about 11pm. If it had not been that late I would not have stayed the one night. The place was a dump, the wood floors swelled, you had to force the front door open, the wall over the bed had water bubbles, the entry door had a huge crack, you could see outside, rotten wood on the baseboards, the smoke detector was open with no battery in it, the fire places were falling apart, missing bricks, the bed frame needed repair, cheap and flimsy, walls and floors were poorly done, the backyard was a mess and the bathroom window didn't lock and the front door didn't lock properly. it was bad location, so I didn't feel comfortably staying there or leaving my belongings. I have photos of the place. I found a hotel and checked out the next morning. i would like a refund for the remaining 4 days.

You get what you pay for
My experience during my stay in that neighborhood was confusing and unexpected. Communication with the manager was non-existent. The unit itself appeared to be a work in progress and was not very clean, with the sink in the bathroom not secure and ants all over the place, making it far from a delightful stay. Additionally, the walls were paper-thin, greatly reducing privacy. Cleanliness should be paramount in any accommodation. While I understand the concept of "you get what you pay for," if you are considering this place, I would recommend doing a pre-visit before committing. Personally, I would not choose to stay there again.

Great for me, but lots of negatives
I am 70 yo and stayed for 3 weeks during Jazz Fest. For me, this place was great. The positives outweighed the negatives, but there's a lot more negatives. Positives: Location- easy walking to French Quarter and grocery store just a few blocks away. Also walked to Fairgrounds (JazzFest). Parking on street was never a problem. Neighborhood fair, always felt at ease. Bed was very comfortable, much better than mine at home. Kitchen had good appliances, lacked many utensils. Had to buy a few. Negatives: Communication. TELL your guests that you're not going to give the entry info until minutes before check in. I think I know why you do that but my last Vrbo place canceled two days before my check in so I was a bit nervous. NO communication upon leaving. Never did I get ANY info on what I was suppose to do (garbage, linens, towels, etc) when I left. Bedroom-Planks on floor were loose. Paper curtain on window to balcony TV old - Cable didn't have local channels Only broom in laundry had half the bristles missing. No set of drawers. Overhead lights only flickers. Bathroom - could use more towels AND a towel rack!! Sink need to be secured. Hot water in shower only lasted for a few minutes before getting cold only to get hot again minutes later. Kitchen - Fridge sticks Laundry - always full Stairs - steep for 70 year old Thin walls but had fairly quiet guests next door.

Don’t look like the pictures in the advertisement
The place was mostly clean. Our stay was for 2 nights, we only had 1 face towel and 1 bath towel, no paper towels, 1 roll of tissue, and no night stand. The bed was like sleeping on the floor. The back yard looked scary and the neighbor hood looked sketchy. The floors felt like we were going to fall through. This is for a bachelor only planning to sleep here only!

It was a nice stay
Like all the other reviews state, this place could use maintenance and a deep clean. Everything we touched was clean, the bathroom, shower, kitchen, sheets etc. It's a cute place in an old house. I love old historic houses. A few nights were pretty cold out and the heater had a tough time keeping up, so it was a bit cold inside. The place is with in walking distance of a grocery store, restaurants and the French quarter isn't a far walk away either. For the price I think is was a good value.

Good and Bad
The good: The apartment itself is mostly fine. The neighborhood is funky. The bad: (1) Getting check-in instructions out of the host was like pulling teeth. It was 2 hours before scheduled check-in that I finally got check-in instructions, and only after contacting VRBO customer service. (2) Loud upstairs neighbors, but that could be a VRBO too—who knows? (3) Ran out of hot water 5 minutes into my shower. (4) Despite the description in the listing, there is no washer or dryer—or they’re *very* well hidden. (5) Speaking of the property description, the *is* a deadbolt, but it’s on the back door; there is no deadbolt on the front door. (6) The chimney in the middle of the apartment seems to be in some state of collapse.

Everything you need for a short or extended stay
Simple, no frills but a decent kitchen set up. Hit a grocery store and you can do well here. It's an older typical "shotgun" house. Weather was not unseasonably, just COLD. House not equipped with adequate heating unfortunately. Window Air Conditioning probably struggles to keep up in summer. Location is perfect for my needs, walking distance to NOLA Jazz Museum & cooking classes. Used RTA bus to & from airport. No hassle with transportation. Would stay again, just be prepared for climate

Old Charm
I (F/33), came down alone over Christmas Weekend. I was kind of anxious to travel alone, but I felt totally safe and comfortable here. Its important to note that this is not a luxury hotel. If that's what you're looking for this is probably not for you. Its a super old house - the floors look to be original, so they are old and creaky. The fireplace is a little crumbly, but absolutely beautiful. The front door sticks just a little, especially when it rains. But these are all things that gave the place charm and character and I absolutely adored my time there. The bed was comfy, the hot water worked (even if it was a little finicky at first) and there was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. None of which I really used as i ate out most of the time but they were there! My only "complaint" is it isnt SUPER easy to get to the quarter. Its not far as the crow flies, but I am a country girl so city blocks and bus schedules confuse me lol but it wasn’t bad and I would absolutely stay again!

Time before cruise
We enjoyed our stay, however we were not informed that the space was on the second floor with very steep metal steps, about 30 of them. My husband is disabled and we both have trouble with stairs to begin with, then on top of that we had to take two large suitcases up those stairs. And down when we left . They were slick when wet also. The showere was hard to figure out but once we did it was ok. Not much pressure but good and hot. Cute and comfortable space. A few small touches would make a world of difference. Like hooks on the wall in the bathroom for towels, basic cleaning supplies to clean small spills and such. The bed was comfortable, pillows were terrible. Just by dropping a few dollars on small items could improve things greatly. Black out drapes would be awesome too, because when the sun comes up your up!! An extra blanket would be a nice touch. But overall I would request again as long as I could have a lower unit.

New Orleans can be a scary place. Our stay was great for the most part. The host and the apartment itself were great. On our last night around 1am there were gunshots fired right outside and it was a terrifying experience. We are okay and we’re able to get to a safer location for the rest of the night. Please be careful when you visit New Orleans and choose to stay were you feel most comfortable. I do think for safety that the bed in the condo should be moved to the central living space away from the front door of the apartment.

Overall the property was decent. There are a few minor things that need to be touched up in the home. However, I believe the quality was fairly good for the listing price. Great place to be if you need a place near Bourbon but have a tight budget!

There is more than one property rented here - although similar, it may not match the review or what you see. We had the unit at 1234 and you can hear neighbors (when you have some) and the floor vibrates when they walk. the fridge door can't be open unless you go outside (it just needs to be reversed). the bathroom sink is yanked from the wall. it's a pedestal sink and would topple if you leaned on it. I used ducktape and anchored it to the wall while we were there. Too often i would lean on it and almost knocked it over. The showerhead was a disaster - sprayed all over the place (we made do). There is no stove, just a plug in burner, a microwave and a one-cup-at-a-time coffee maker. No ice trays, limited dishes but enough to get by. We bought extra drinking glasses. We also bought a foam cover for the foldout couch (not great to sleep on). Otherwise the place was good (1/2 a shotgun) all open space. front door opens to the bedroom, living dining room is partially separated, kitchenette at the back. Bathroom is off the living room behind the kitchenette. Clean and a good responsive host. The tone of the neighbourhood is different, but found the neighbours friendly and safe. not far from Frenchmen street, the French Quarters anf Louis Armstrong Park.

Our experience
We arrived at the property early and we’re allowed to store bags there. That was a great relief. Our first night was just fine. Our second night was an absolute disaster as the unit wound up infested with swarms of flying ants which we think were termites. Not just a few either! They were all over the sinks and our bed and the curtains and chairs and dining table. We were able to find a room at Holiday Inn Express. It took us a while to unwind after making this move.

The condo was clean and spacious with a nice view of the area. There were plenty of towels and basic supplies. The bed was uncomfortable due to not having a box spring and the flat pillows need to be replaced. The property was within walking distance to the French Quarter and Bourbon St. There were numerous options for dining and shopping in the area and we generally felt safe walking after dark. Property management resolved a couple issues quickly and to our satisfaction. While the game room is pictured on VRBO, we did not have a key card to access it. In general we were happy with our accommodations and would stay here again.
