We've owned rentals for 30 years and are super hosts on Airbnb. I would have been embarrassed to rent this property as an owner or manager. The most obvious issue was the smell and filth of the carpet. We requested a new vacuum from the property manager as the old one was broke. After 5 minutes of vacuuming just the dining room and living room, the canister was completely full. We vacuumed three times a day for the first 4 days, which significantly helped with the smell and obviously helped pick up dirt off the carpet. We tried to find a different property but could not for our 30 day stay. The other main issue was the thermostat, which could remotely be controlled by the owners. It was pre-programmed to 76 at night. You could only make adjustments for an hour or so at a time. We tried to reset the thermostat, which completely shut it down allowing only the owner to restart. After being told someone could come in a week to fix it and the temperature was already up to 80, we were able to fix it ourselves. On a positive note, the master bed and bath were spacious with a comfortable bed. The complex itself was beautiful and well-maintained with lots of amenities, but it's been 3 weeks and we still have not received our deposit. We would return to Oceanwalk, but not to this unit or with this property manager. The portal that management requires VRBO tenants to use is tedious, complicated and gives false information.
