Unfortunately the room we had was the most noisiest hotel room we have ever had in our life. The constant beeping of cars, trucks, sirens was ridiculous. Our bathroom door didn’t slide easy, shower head was broken, toilet only had one flush mode working, heating was broken. This was not cheap accommodation either. So when you are planning a trip to New York and actually want good accommodation please don’t make our mistake, make sure you get sound proof rooms.

I recently stayed at The Fifty Sonesta Hotel New York. I found the location to be incredibly convenient. It's close to midtown and Broadway, but far enough away from Times Square to avoid the crowds.

Great people and location, but needs a big upgrade
I've stayed at this hotel before, but this was not the best stay. The people are great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. But the hotel could really use an upgrade. The hall was dark and dreary looking. The lobby and common areas look nice, but once you get to the residence floors, it's another story. We got almost no sleep. The room was crammed with two beds, with little room to move around them. The bathroom was about the size of a powder room with a tub/shower crammed in. There were no usable outlets by the beds. And the wiring for the reading lights on the beds were ripped out of whatever they were attached to. The beds were very... bouncy. Not exactly uncomfortable, but not particularly comfortable. And though we had asked for a higher floor, we were put on the third floor. I grew up in NYC, but the street noice was crazy, particularly the first night. Not something the hotel can control, but a higher floor would have made the noise more bearable. We tried to move up after the first night, but there was nothing available. They offered us a new room for our last night there, but we ended up leaving a day early. The location and people are fantastic. They just need to spend a little money bringing the hotel into the 20th, if not the 21st century.

Spacious Hotel in Amazing Location
Amazing location close to Rockefeller Center and the midtown holiday festivities! Comfortable clean lobby. We stayed in the two queen bed suite and it was a huge space with a kitchenette and a pull out bed as well. Will be staying here for our next NYC trip too!

Great location in the city with lots to explore in walking distance. Easy access to the subway. The room was beautiful and spotless. Comfortable beds and a nice little kitchen. The only thing I could recommend would be robes.

The young lady with the red hair at check in was very rude over worked and short with the customers. The bathtub wouldn’t drain and the heat wouldn’t turn down past 71 other guests complained about the heat too. Overall great location clean nice doorman fast elevators. Brad was very nice at the check in and we received $10crefit for snacks everyday!😊
