We stayed in the penthouse with balcony and it was fantastic. So roomy for a New York hotel stay and it was clean and comfortable. The city was very cold during our stay but heating was great. Hotel Scherman is in a great location, easily walkable to the subway and lots of restaurants on the block. We would stay here again and highly recommend it.

We loved our stay at Hotel Scherman. Great service from all the friendly staff, super comfy and accommodating room and a fantastic location just on the edge of Times Square. The Tavern next door was also great. Totally recommend. The roof terrace would be a huge advantage in the hotter months too.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Scherman! Our room was clean and spacious and we appreciated having 2 Queen beds (rare for NYC!). The breakfast was great with good options for everyone in our group. The only downside of the hotel is that there isn’t really a lobby of the hotel, but the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The location was great, right by Restaurant Row and close to the theatre district and Times Square. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to NYC!

The room itself looked nice. I didn’t know when booking there are 2 buildings. If you are in the second one there is no elevator. We had to climb 3 flights to get to our room. I noticed the douvet and one of the towels had a stain. The safe wasn’t reset before we got there and we had to wait for someone to come fix it. At one point we also had no water and the bed was rock hard.

We originally got a smaller room for a quick honeymoon getaway but got upgraded to a suite & it was amazing. The balcony view was amazing, everything was extremely clean, the staff was super sweet, breakfast was super good, 100000/10. I did not want to leave. Can’t wait to visiting NYC and book here again. Thank you guys so much!

Look no further! This hotel is the best!
Hotel Scherman was perfect for our family’s first trip to NY. The room was spacious and comfortable. Having a small fridge and microwave was a huge help for our family member with food allergies, the breakfast was lovely, and the roof top deck was beautiful! What a view! All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming and helpful, They graciously held our bags for us when we arrived early and they were waiting for us in the room when we got back from exploring. The location is so convenient and we enjoyed walking to everything. We could not have picked a more perfect hotel and we will be back!

It's worth giving a chance
When we arrived to the hotel, we were doubtful while seeing the weird entrance. But once in the room, we were very happy and comfortable. People at the reception and breakfast were very nice. Room was beautiful and silent...in spite of facing the street. I would happily return.

WOW! I cannot say enough about my stay at this incredible hotel. I booked this for an overnight with my sisters and we had the two bedroom suite which included a beautiful balcony. Check in was so easy and Jerry was very helpful. I walked into the suite and just kept saying Wow! So very spacious for NYC. We had two separate rooms each with their own bathroom and a lovely sitting room. Breakfast included was very nice. Such a nice quiet space so near all the action but tucked away on such a lovely street.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Scherman. I was visiting NYC with my girlfriend as we were running the NYC Marathon. The staff were SO friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed the hospitality. We also loved the super large and steamy shower! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. That being said I do feel that people should be aware that NYC is very busy and loud, and for the convenience of this area, that there is a lot of noise/hustle bustle. The bed was very comfortable, and we still slept soundly. For the light sleepers, just keep in mind ear plugs might be needed.

The hotel is in a great location. Easy to walk to the main tourist attractions in midtown and close to the theatres and restaurants. However set further back from Times Square so a little quieter. The rooftop terrace provides great views of the midtown skyline. The hotel is very clean. The beds are comfy. The staff were lovely, polite friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if I come back to New York
