Our room was 84°F (29 °C) when we arrived. We adjusted the thermostat to somethingn a bit more reasonable but when we returned at 2am, nothing had changed. Staff came up and did a manual reset but we ended up turning the heater off and opening up a window (winter in NYC) to make the room liveable. Breakfast was disappointing - poor selection, jockeying for a seat - that we went to a diner around the corner for a proper meal. We had booked the room because it included breakfast but spent extra money to get a decent meal. We could have used what we spent on breakfast to book a nicer, more expensive hotel down the street where we stayed before and the breakfast was generous and had seating for everyone. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful (as was the maintenance guy who looked at the heater) and the property is very well located.

Our stay at the Hampton inn in Chelsea was great! I have no complaints other than the heating/air didn’t seem to be connected to anything so we couldn’t adjust the temperature in our room. When we arrived, our fire alarm needed more batteries and the phone did not work, but the staff responded accordingly and were professional. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful throughout our stay. This was a great and safe area and within walking distance to a lot of places.

This property is older but location is great, front desk safe were great other staff had limited language so requests were not always fulfilled. On arrival we found out the room we had booked was 1 king bed so not a room for 3 like we had been lead to believe so be careful with that when booking.

We requested towels for the next day stay because the hotel does clean every 2 days after your stay. The front desk told us that they did not have any towels available until after 6 hours later. We try to get ice, the ice dispenser are in floor 5, 9, 14, 19, but there is no ice in any of them. No shampoo, shower gel or Conditioner on any of the dispenser bottles. Among other things.

Ran out of eggs to early in the week, since I’m assuming they got delivery on Monday but had not eggs on Thursday and throughout the week the eggs supply was limited. This Hampton Inn is a nice, clean place to stay in Chelsea, with very helpful front desk staff, decent size rooms, reasonable rates, and a solid breakfast included (waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, etc.). It's not a luxury hotel, but it's an excellent option if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable and helpful home base from which to explore Manhattan. If you're driving in, be aware of added parking expense - but that's true of pretty much all Manhattan hotels.
