Hotel location was great easy to walk to Time Square and Penn Station which meant you had good subway access to anywhere in NYC, there were other station closer also so easy to get around. Hotel was clean, tidy and the room was serviced daily if you wanted it to be. The room lacked a little in facilities, it had a fridge but no microwave or tea/coffee facilities. Also could have done with one more bench to get your suitcases off the floor and out of the way. Staff were great to deal with, very friendly.

I found the Stanford to be perfect for my one night stay before heading out on a cruise. Every employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. I arrived well before the allotted check in time, but they gladly stored my luggage, gave me recommendations of where to eat, gave me a coupon for a bakery down the street, and I went on my way to explore. They also stored my luggage after checkout since I wasn’t scheduled to arrive at the cruise terminal until midafternoon. The location is SO convenient to so many sites in the city. The view from my room wasn’t picturesque, but I didn’t come here to see the city from my room. The room was extremely clean, it was very quiet, and the single twin had plenty of space for me and my multiple suitcases/bags. I would definitely stay here again if I was planning to be in NYC.

Good stay, great location
We were a little wary because of the lack of (recent) reviews online about Hotel Stanford, but learned from staff that it's been closed since the start of COVID and just reopened 2 months ago (April-ish 2024). We enjoyed our stay! It's older and the rooms are a bit faded, but our room and the common areas were clean, bed was comfortable, and location was perfect for us. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Some things like the lobby, hall carpets, etc. seemed to have been redone during the closure, and it was handy having bar/restaurant attached. We also enjoyed the perks of complimentary coffee/beverages & small snacks available in the lobby, 24hr doorman, and the voucher for the bakery a few doors down (be sure to go!). Our room was super quiet the entire time and virtually no noise from the other guests or the city outside. It was on the side with an alley view, so it was solid brick wall a few feet away from the windows, haha. But it's New York so we were out doing and seeing things the whole time, not sitting in the hotel gazing out the window! We would stay again.
