Check in was easy but there was no heat in the room January in NY 63 degrees in room all night. The girl at front desk told me they should have given me a small portable heater!!!! 200$ US and no heat

Before we arrived from Los Angeles, they neglected to tell us that there was no heat or running hot water. They had no problem notifying us by email that they required a securtiy deposit when checking in. Horrible.

This property is clearly in the midst of transition. It is not clearly marked for identification from the street. Staff had limited knowledge of the property itself from no hot water for the first 24 hours and additional blankets for the room to cups for coffee (instant, in the lobby only). Communication with the hotel is dependent on my own mobile phone and response to requests are untimely.

Never again.I would never stay at this property or any other associated affiliations. upon arrival we were told that the hot water and heater broke or wasn’t working and had broke that day. Which was a total lie because they would tell every customer every day that we were there at the same old story and lie. We would have appreciated if they sent out an email when this incident occurred so that we could have found a different reservation and would have understood. Instead we were left stranded either to find a new hotel with no refund or stay at the Hudson yard. The front desk refused to give us a discount or refund since we booked with Expedia, but when contacting Expedia, who I talk to five different representatives wouldn’t have anything to help us without canceling our flights, etc., and told us to go through the front desk and ask for a refund the hotel didn’t offer anything except to use a nearby gym to use their amenities. when going to the nearby gym, the hotel hadn’t even paid for the gym. We had to have a walk over with us to pay every time we wanted to use it. It was such an inconvenience. The gym was not clean as well as the hotel honestly. this was a difficult situation since we were in New York during New Year’s Eve. There was no availability and if there was, it was so expensive so instead, we had a rough it out we hope for a little Grace and at least a discounted stay but no, this place is luckily they aren’t getting sued.

The first night we were there the heat stopped working. A gentleman came to fix it. He drained three buckets of brown water from the heater and it started working again. It was gross and made me wonder what the filthy water was putting into the air. The next started off okay, but the room quickly got colder, and there was no hot water. The staff at the front desk explained that the boiler was out, so there was no heat, but that it was being worked on and would hopefully be fixed soon. Hours later the boiler was not fixed, and the lies started. I was first told that the boiler would be fixed in two hours. When that didn't happen I inquired as to what the back up plan would be. I was told that the staff would bring a space heater up, and there was nothing they could do about the water situation. Two hours later there was no heater. The gentleman at the front desk stated that the hotel had run out of heaters and had sent someone to Target to purchase some more. He stated that he would send up two space heaters to make up for it. I returned to the hotel later that evening and asked the front desk staff if heaters had been purchased and delivered to my room. He was confused as there was never a plan to purchase more heaters and he didn't know what I was talking about. Again, I asked what the backup plan was, since my room was 57 degrees. The best he could do was give me a blanket. They stated management would be there the next day to talk about compensation. They weren't

I arrived to check-in on December 28th only to be told the hotel had been without heat and hot water for 2 weeks. No one from the hotel contacted me before my arrival date to inform me of this. The lobby was full of people who also booked using Expedia and was trying to book rooms at other hotels. The staff and manager assured us they would approve a refund since their policy states must cancel within 72 hours, but since this was their issue, not mine, they would approve a refund with Expedia. Expedia tried calling the hotel for confirmation of this and was sent to voicemail at their corporate office. The manager sent the front desk staff to the lobby to tell me they have my information and will contact Expedia with the approval of cancelation, but it could take up to 7 days to reflect the refund. I received a follow up email today from Expedia that despite multiple efforts, they were unable to get through to this hotel and therefore, a refund can not be granted. I understand things happen, but it is only right that this hotel refunds the money since we did not stay there. We were offered a space heater the size of a toaster and a pass to a health club 2 blocks over for showers if we stayed there.

Because of a boiler malfunction the hotel had NO heat or hot water. We didnt stay consequently and had to find other accommodations on the 23rd of December in NYC!! Expedia and Hudson Yards Hotel are refusing to refund roughly 1000$ of our payment so it looks like we will resolve this in Small Claims Court in January 2025.
