I got a room on the first level not sure what the view was because the AC had to be in the window and felt like a janitors closet. There wasn’t even a phone to call in and out. The location was the best part.

The team here are wonderful - they are attentive and friendly and I would recommend the hotel as safe for female solo travellers for this reason. The room was big (especially for NYC!) clean, my requests were accommodated and I was comfortable during my stay. There’s a lovely little courtyard which was great to chill out in and a gym which is well maintained and open 24/7. Points to consider - I didn’t have a fridge in my room and there wasn’t much in the way of clothes storage. Also, I was at the front of the hotel which meant I heard the city waking up every morning. I really liked this, and it’s common in midtown hotels as the city is generally noisy, but it might not work for some, so maybe ask for a quieter room if you’d like that. Finally, there wasn’t a coffee machine, which would have been nice to have. There was instant coffee and tea available in the lobby. I will definitely consider this hotel to stay in next time I’m in NYC.

Good stay, nice rooms. Air conditioning was a bit loud but not unbearable. Wish there was a lounge or cafe on site. Shampoo, conditioner and lotion containers were very difficult to use luckily the front desk and security people helped me pop off the lid, for which I was very grateful.

The location is great, you’ll be able to just walk to the most tourist spots. However, we did not have room cleaning service, found a cockroach in the bathroom that stayed there for two days (like I said, no room cleaning service). Also, we paid for a room with a city view and closet, but were hosted in an inferior room, no windows even. The building itself is pretty hot but the AC in the room was doing okay.

Many of the rooms face a central open air courtyard space and there are windows from the room to the hallway. Backout shades aren't completely effective in stopping someone from peering into your room from the hallway. Also, the rooms utilize a window AC unit which is a little noisy but didn't bother me too much. The experience was ok but a little unique. i really think the property could address the issue of viewing into the room from the hall fairly easily.
