Pretty much what you expect, you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a cheap and convenient place in the city and don’t plan on spending much time actually at the hotel, it’s perfect. I needed a place to stay after a concert at MSG and the location and price couldn’t be beat for that.

It wasn’t quiet on the street but it Manhattan. It’s very small but served its purpose. The bathroom was extra small. The sink was an arm rest for the toilet. So if you’re claustrophobic this isn’t for you. The price you can’t beat for midtown. I’d do it again.

The reception staff were never there to actually receive anyone or anything - nowhere to be found - and guests were left sitting in the unattended waiting area waiting to check in / out for a long time. I had to call the reception desk phone so that the reception worker, who was seemingly living in the small downstairs room attached to reception, woke up and stumbled to the reception desk IN THEIR PYJAMAS to assist guests. It only got worse when I entered my alleged “three star” room, which was had a window that wouldn’t close (let in the cold air and loud noise from the street) and stains all over everything. Three stars is an absolute farce. I’ve seen mixed dorm hostels look and feel far better (and safer) than the Midtown West Hotel.

Very poor standard, room not as shown in advert. Broken furniture, loads of damage to the tiles in the bathroom, water leaked onto the floor in the bathroom. Very dirty,, air conditioner next to bed. External of air conditioning unit outside covered in pigeon faeces, could not be used for fear of contamination. Would not recommend this property. No lifts, lots of staircases that are very narrow! The kettle and microwave are in reception area, no cutlery, cups or plates to use. I have photos of all damage and dirt as evidence.
