New Yorker had only one attribute, proximity to MSG for a concert we attended. The property is in great need of an overhaul. Peeling paint, outdated fixtures, dirty bathroom and no reliable, properly staffed nor proficient staff within the restaurant or bar within the hotel. You just get a feeling the hotel is an afterthought by Wyndham.

I was in town for one night to see David Gilmour at the Garden. I’ve been to New York before so I know the city. Let me say that I read all of the reviews of this property before booking, and was pretty concerned about the multiple bad reviews. Here’s my take: People complain too much. If you want new and luxurious, pay that price. If you want a nice, clean, safe place to sleep and bathe, this place is perfectly fine. My check in was easy and smoothe. My room was older, but super clean. It was small, yes, but it’s NY and I paid a very fair price. …and slept and bathed. That’s it. The rest of the time, I’m out and about. So ignore the complainers. Oh, and the Tik Tok diner downstairs is top notch and open 24/7,

Lovely old world New York hotel within walking distance from Penn Station and MSG. Suggestion for the hotel: add a small shelf and a hook in the tiny bathroom

The hotel needs a major facelift. It looks dirty because the paint and tile is so old. The line to check in was so long (over 30 minutes wait) that we were going to miss the start of a sporting event we came to NYC to see. As a result, we checked our bags so we could get to the event on time and check in later. They charged us $5.

Cheap toiletries is limited amount. Additional facilities fee close to $65.00 for what?? Charge per bag for storage after checkout. Uncomfortable room limited space. No shelf to place toiletries. Old faucets difficult and noisy to regulate. Not good value for money.
