Newly Renovated Bungalow With Patio and Fireplace w/ Vineyard & Mtn Views, Minutes to Many Vineyards

This bungalow at Bellingar Estates sits not far off of North Valley Road in Newberg. You are in the heart of the wine country region with tasting rooms and vineyards in every direction. It is just a short jaunt to some of the most incredible food and wine in the area. Just next door is 'The Old Schoolhouse'. It is an incredible venue for weddings, receptions, and other events.

This one bedroom bungalow was recently renovated and furnished. Everything about it is brand new. Relax after exploring the region on the cozy couch that also folds out into a sofa bed. It is great for kids or smaller adults but may not be completely comfortable at certain sizes. There is a full kitchen and dining room all open to the living room. The sliding glass door opens up on to a slightly sunken patio with views of the newly planted vineyard behind. There is a wonderful fireplace available to use as well. The Chehalem Mountains are along the horizon behind. Please be aware during excessive rains, water may collect on the patio area as it sits a bit lower than the land around it. This can limit the enjoyment of the patio area during these rare occurrences.

There is a newly furnished bedroom with a frame canopy bed and full bath. You will find tasteful and elegant appointment of every room within the Bellingar Estates bungalow. An air conditioning unit has been added to the bedroom.

This bungalow is part of a duplex and both are 1 bedroom 1 bath short term rentals. If you can't find it while searching, let me know if you would like to check on availability.

This property may include a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. There is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

Pleasant Stay with Potential
Really sweet property, great for visits to the area or a little getaway. There were some cleanliness issues due to the old carpet, but a very nice little place overall.

Our bungalow was very cute inside and had everything we needed for a great stay. The outdoor area is so peaceful and private with comfortable furniture, string lights, and the vineyard to look at. Don't be fooled by the dated exterior...the owners did a great job on the interior! The bed is comfortable, and there is plenty of space for 2-3 people to spread out and relax. Easy driving distance to lots of local wineries and eateries! If you stay here, be sure to visit Kelly in the tasting room on the premises. She is wonderful and so are the wines (the complimentary tasting is a nice bonus)!

Excellent for couples and 2 kids!
This property was a great get away for our family. Extremely clean, comfortable, inviting, and quiet. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a romantic bungalo for you and your partner. The pullout sofa bed in the newly updated living room makes room for two other guests. The kitchen has everything you need and the back patio overlooks a vinyard. The patio also includes an open fireplace and table with chairs. This was a perfect stay for us.

This place was perfect. Location was great, close to portland and wineries, 1 hr drive to coast. We had wine delivered from the winery next door. The fire place was great also. We really loved it and would stay again.

The potential is big. However, It didn't have the "vineyard" experience. My suggestion is to landscape more for an inviting first impression. Back yard opened up for a view to the vineyard. Also, a hardwood/engineered floor would go along way in making this a bungalow instead of just a duplex.

Can't recommend Bungalow 4.
"Recently renovated" is not an entirely accurate description of Bungalow 4. Yes, it has fresh paint, carpet and appliances. It is pretty well furnished inside and has a new minisplit for heating. But that is where things end. The tub/shower is absolutely disgusting. The old tub is covered with old mold stains. The outdoor area is covered in dust (next to a vineyard, I get it), with stained cushions on the furniture. There is no wood available for purchase to use the outdoor fireplace. The front bedroom window is secured by a piece of 1x2 that is angled in to allow for the portable A/C unit to vent out the window. The windows are aluminum frame, single pane, so they provide no insulation for heat or noise from the busy County road that is 50 feet away. There is too much stuff in the unit to the point where there is not enough room to unpack while staying. Tchotchkes are everywhere, from a gold fox sculpture on the very limited bathroom shelving to a stack of three decorative suitcases on the bedroom floor. This place has potential, but I have stayed in cheap motel rooms that have a cleaner bathroom. For that reason, I just can't recommend this place.

GREAT SPOT!
This was my first time in Newberg and I had to find a home close to George Fox University that allowed dogs to stay. This was the perfect house for my dog, my best friend and me. I loved the door lock, it doesn’t require a key but a key pad which was very convenient. Kitchen was well equipped, we made breakfast every morning and ate outside! Our neighbors were friendly! Only thing that I wish we could’ve used was the fireplace! It was so cute under the string lights, but there was a fire ban in place. It was unfortunate, but understandable! The house warming bottle of wine was great and the close proximity to all the wineries was a major plus! Took a box of wine home! I will be returning and staying here again when I am needed back at GFU!

Great place to explore Willamette Valley
Our stay at bungalow #4 was great. The place was clean and had all you need. The outdoor patio and fireplace next to the vines was very relaxing. Some added bonuses were the wineries they had set up free tastings and they were all excellent. Close to everything but still felt quiet. Would highly recommend it.

Disappointed in Wine Country
1) Overall, the description of the property was not accurate for what we experienced. *When I rented the VRBO, the listing mentioned cable television, "sleeps 4" And dishwasher. The listing is now changed to reflect more accuracy since we spoke with VRBO. *We were unable to watch basic channels on television And also had difficulty with the streaming apps. We tried to watch a movie and got commercials that lasted 5 to 10 minutes and the sound was horrific. And the commercials kept coming on every 10 minutes in the movie. So we gave up. * No dishwasher! So we did a lot of dishes because even now during the pandemic it's hard to get reservations because everyone wants to go out so we had to eat in the bungalow. We also question sterility of handwashing dishes during a pandemic. * so now to the sleeping arrangements...listing said "sleeps 4" we under the impression that there was one bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa or futon in the family room. The sofa in the living room was not usable as an actual sleeping sofa. So when we called the management we were told that the listing said small adults and children but we never saw it when we booked the reservation and we've looked for it and still have not found it. Sadly my friend slept on the unusable sofa and was very uncomfortable because there was a Ridge in the sofa that really caused discomfort in the back area. We are not a couple, so we thought 2 sleeping areas would be adequate for two people sleeping separately. *The last point is that one of the reviews mentioned heavy air freshener and we know why, because there is an odor in the bathroom that was not identifiable and it bothered me, the renter of the property, significantly. I had a hard time utilizing the bathroom because of the odor. Like a sewer smell, when we entered the unit we smelled a very damp, musty smell that was not welcoming. To complete the review, the bungalow is very nicely appointed with everything else you would need, the location is fabulous, the decor is beautiful, but it is a very old property. And honestly, this is my first VRBO or Airbnb type rental. I expect consistency and that is why I have always chosen hotels. But I was excited to try something new and from the pictures it looked amazing. We did contact management and were told someone would come out to show us how to fix the couch to make it more usable (we tried!)...set a time for us to expect that person and no one came. Disappointed

Good Value For Money
This is a very difficult rating for me to write. Overall, the property is fine - reasonable size, great location for wine tasting in the Northern Willamette Valley, good communications with the property manager and easy check in. But there were several small annoyances that made me give the property a 4 instead of a 5 stars. For example, while the kitchen was acceptably equipped, there were no kitchen knives larger than a paring knife. Or, while there was a good supply of hot water, it took forever to arrive at the bathroom sink (definitely more than a count of 20 seconds). Or, the strong smell of air freshener. Or, the lack of screens on the bedroom window and the kitchen door. Or, the fact that one of the pictures is not from this property or at least from this property in its current iteration. And, finally, there were more check out requirements than typical for other short term vacation rentals where we have stayed. The price was so good and the location so perfect for our purposes that I just wanted to give it a better rating.
