Due to the economical, geographical and exceptional staff of this hotel there's no other hotel I will ever stay at in Newport The views of the bridge, the distance between the hotel and the "city center riff raff", the respectful budget friendly rates as well as the polite/accommodating management & staff has been a breath of fresh air for the coastal hospitality market. Your room is cleaned by staff that is trustworthy, knows the industry standards of cleanliness and is kind as can be. I spent years in this industry and I've stayed here a total of around 70 consecutive days; I will recommend this hotel to everyone I can. ***I've read many other reviews and here is my two cents. Yes, there is often the scent of robust spices in the building. However, it smells good and there is never a residual smell only whatever is currently cooking. The ownership and/or management live on site, it is their home and that smell is their culture. My room was directly above theirs and not once did I find the smell offensive. The silver lining of it is that if it is safe and comfortable enough for their young family to call home then it is more than adequate for you and yours for a few days.***

I had a good stay. They really need to to some repairs to the rooms. The bed lights had one that the plug in did not work. That is also true about another room I stayed in. The microwaves are very old and outdated, also true ifsome of their refrigerators. My last trip when I ope d the door it was loose and almost fell on my foot. They just really need to update. They also do not supply kleenex or a hair dryer. I thought all hotel/motels provided those as a courtesy.

Clean budget motel with some drawbacks
Staff was friendly and the room was clean (although it smelled like a fish market). Keep in mind this is a pet-friendly hotel, so we heard a large dog barking and whining throughout the night.

In Need Of Repair Upkeep
I stay at this motel because it is pet friendly and does not charge an extremely high pet fee. As a senior that is very important. The one thing about this motel it is not good about repairs. My last stay the room I was in had none working safety locks. I was very concerned about this and let the front desk know. They said it was repaired but it was not. It was still extremely hard for me to turn the safety lock. The one bed lamp had a burned out bulb and they took care of that. The cleaning staff did not clean my room and had to call the front desk for towels. The beds were comfortable. They really don't have heavy enough blankets, so I always bring one with me.

I wouldn't say this is a bad place, it was not for me. I found it loud and obnoxious with all the children running around in the morning while the cleaning ladies are going room to room. I don't know what was up above me but they were allowed and stomped around at all hours of the night. I had some weirdo pound on my door at 3:22 a.m. I know that it was 322 because I was annoyed. I stayed on the second floor I was supposed to have a view of the Bay I didn't. I had to press my face up against the glass of the window and look sideways to see the bay. My room faced the bridge which was incredibly loud. I had to ask for a fan to drown out all the noise I didn't sleep very much the entire time I was there which was 3 days. I wanted to go to the aquarium while I was there so I stayed as close as possible to the aquarium. It's within walking distance of this motel. Also I wanted to go to South Beach fish market or whatever to get steamer clams so that was really close as well so it was convenient for that as far as me staying here again probably not it was just too loud for me the bed was not comfortable for me also if you want to get frisky in it everybody's going to know because that bed squeaks so much it was crazy. Yeah I wouldn't say it's a bad place it just wasn't for me the staff was okay everything was kind of dirty but kind of not you know just a motel just very very noisy but it could have just been my location in the motel so I don't know I was right by the elevator

The motel is a bit dated. There was a Kleenex holder in the bathroom counter but strangely, no tissues. The towels were very thin. But the room was clean and the staff friendly. Sunday morning there were children running up and down the halls for a while making a lot of noise but that was rude guests not motel issue. Location was good to get in and out of town. Overall, I would stay there again…just maybe bring my own towels.

Unkept and uncomfortable cheap shouldn’t mean dump
We got a second floor room. Getting off the elevator you get hit with a strong smell of Marijuana in the hallway. Thankfully it did not get into our room. We did however use our towel to block the big crack in the door. The toilet seat was not attached to the toilet because of the assistance handles they tried to put on it. The bathroom door pushed into the small bathroom so handicap accessible is impossible in this bathroom. The refrigerator made such a loud noise we had to unplug it. The microwave didn’t work. The medal bed frame squeaked on the floor so bad we put our remaining towel under it. The bed was very soft to soft for our liking. This room was advertised on hotels like it had a sofa and fireplace which it had neither. The furniture in the room looked like it was in a bar fight.

They’re was only a sheet on the bed. The lights were all so bright white and uncomfortable, and one blinked. The water barely got hot and took forever and the shower made an annoying high pitch squeak the entire time.
