we usually stay at Riu at most of our vacations and we have loved it , Riu Palace in Aruba was not at all like others, bathrooms smells horrible, food was very bad and very poor. Service was ok. Sad to say but not coming back at Riu Aruba anymore 😕

The location is amazing, walking distance to popular restaurants and night life. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade. You will feel like you’re stepping into a time capsule both in the lobby and in the rooms. Musty smell in the room and no usb chargers given it’s an older hotel. Beach was amazing so made up for the rooms being so outdated.

Do not stay at the Riu! There is MOLD everywhere. We had to switch our rooms because of the mold. When I complained, they came out and wiped or painted over the mold around our room vents. We are highly allergic to mold and suffered everyday! There is a lot of moisture and humidity in the room which causes the floor to be wet and slippery the entire time! The food is awful! The friendliest staff members were the bartenders. Not worth the $1,000. A night!!! Oh and you have to wake up at 6:00AM if you want to find a chair at the beach or pool. I would not recommend the Riu!!! Needs to be knocked down and rebuilt for sure!!!

The pool and beach are five star. Everything else is three star. The hotel is a bit rundown. The food in the buffet is not only uninspired but mostly lukewarm and congealed after sitting out under heat lamps. Definitely expect better for the price. There's a stage right beneath the guests' windows where loud music blares every night until 11pm. On Christmas Eve we had to suffer through three hours of drunken karaoke. Not what we signed up for and unfair to guests who are not interested or have children who want to go to sleep. Overall, not a great experience.

I would like to say the property is great and well maintained. I do want to bring up that the room I was in I had blocked view of the Ocean that shows the pillar. The guest service didn't show the room before we actually assigned the room.

The rooms are loaded with mold and they dont care. It is a health issue for people. The hvac syatems dont work correctly and they have people painting over the mold. The cutomer service is terrible. It was the worst experience.
