We chose this due to its location near our grandkids but also because it is basically the only option around.
It is clear that this hotel has seen better days and that maintenance is not a thing here for these owners.
Our stay was 4 nights so we "upgraded" to the executive suite and I use that term loosely here.
No towels, the kitchenette floor was so filthy my shoes stuck to it, sticky and with debris all over. The "couch" was disgusting and had large stains all over it as well as ripped cushions so we never sat on it - gross, and needs to be replaced. Only half of stove worked as the knob on one burner was free flowing and worn out, so a safety issue. Several lights didn't work and were burned out. The shower takes about 10 minutes to drain after being ankle deep in water. The toilet ran constantly so I had to call that in. All this within the first hour there...
When I complained about the floor and the towels I was told it was my fault because I checked in early. I seriously doubt that my 18 minute early check-in was the reason for these levels of massive failures, especially since there wasn't a housekeeping cart anywhere on the 3rd floor.
Yes some of these were corrected but clearly these owners have lost touch with the whole concept of the "hospitality" industry and has forgone any serious - or even regular - maintenance.
So we paid a premium for very substandard accomodations. Next trip up we will stay in Forest Lake...
