Annual Family Vacation
The first thing I would like to say is that this house and property are absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It is centrally located from everywhere we wanted to spend time during our vacation and we could not have asked for a better place to stay. Matt was very informative and answered every question we had quickly and thoroughly. The first night at the house we were visited by a deer and her two fawns and the vacation just got better from there. Everyone in the family loved the house and the area. If Matt would have us back, we would love to rent the house again next year for our family vacation.

24 eclipse gathering
We thoroughly enjoyed the property and the eclipse. Matt was very communicative through the arrival process and very accommodating when we had a late spring snowstorm that dropped 16” and knocked out power and internet for a short spell. We loved walking through the property, even with the snow and found the place very restful and rejuvenating. We spent a couple afternoons at the local brewery, paradox brewing, where we enjoyed the beer, food, and the service.

Nice stay
The house size was perfect for our two families. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook our meals like at home. The property is very well maintained by the owner. We enjoyed our stay and Matthew was quite helpful!

Perfect Adirondack house
When I was younger, I would have jim paynes Sea Plane me out with a small group of adventures to the most remote parts of the Adirondacks. I wanted my 10-year-old and 12 year-old to have a remote Adirondack adventure without the uncertainty and potential danger. Matthews house was perfect. Beautiful property and proper Adirondack environment. Canoed up Mill Creek flow a few times from the property. My daughter couldn’t believe how quiet it was other than the birds chirping. We did the adventure tour at Ausable chasm drove to the top of white face and the break things up Six Flags great escape. All a short beautiful drive. If you’re looking for an Adirondack experience on the remote side, this house is perfect. Craig

Out InThe Wilderness W/Nature
The 6 of us enjoyed having the space of bedrooms(beds very comfortable) and bathrooms(small), large kitchen, dining area and the inside space for our motorcycles… no neighbors for quietness… tucked back off the road with nature…. Had good directions to wind our way through the countryside..! Any questions we had, Matthew had answers for very quickly!! Owner has told us that remodeling is in place and moving forward……. Thanks for allowing us this property for our trip from Indiana to upper state New York!

hidden treasure
Plenty of room ! and property for hiking, bird watching, meditating or just viewing the beautiful nature that surrounds this secluded property from outside or in! the house has huge windows in each room making it bright and Host , Matthew, was readily available and when we arrived and advised the hot water in the kitchen wasn’t on due to an oversight , he sent someone right over to turn it on Matthew even put a couple of air conditioners in, as hot weather was predicted ! Very pleasant to deal with The house is being renovated but comfortable and convenient

Quiet Tranquil Retreat
This quaint rustic retreat was perfect for our group of 7 skiers. Nestled on a beautiful forested property that sits half way between Whiteface and Gore allows for options should you want to ski both. Add in hikes, river and a waterfall on the property makes for a perfect off track getaway. The home was quite comfortable; beautiful updated kitchen, dining table that extended to allow for seating for 8, large living area with a large television if you so wish, 3 bathrooms, 3 bdrms and a garage the host was willing to allow to use for parking ( we did not need it). The closest town for adequate shopping is about 20 minutes away (Schroon Lake), but a 45 minute drive gets you to the Lake Placid area which offers an abundant outdoor activities - skating, hiking, skiing etcetera- shopping, restaurants to list a few.

A Perfect NY Gem!
Matthew was an awesome host! He was very informative, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions we had. His house was clean, organized, spacious, and well maintained. The house is tucked back in a beautiful remote setting with plenty of property to explore! It’s far enough away to enjoy peaceful days and the darkest nights but close enough to the local towns that are just a driving distance away. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend! We will definitely be back!! :)
