A fantastic eight-bedroom property in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside located by the glorious Pitsford Reservoir. This is the perfect place for family groups, reunions, special occasions or colleagues looking to stay together. The bedrooms are situated over three floors with the living/dining room on the ground floor overlooking the beautiful gardens where you may see the resident peacocks passing. The well-equipped kitchen is also on the ground floor. Spend a lovely sunny evening enjoying the front terrace garden or a short wander will take you to the water’s edge where you can cycle, walk or jog round the just over 7-mile loop around Pitsford Reservoir; bikes are available for hire and there is a children’s play areas as well as picnic tables to enjoy a picnic at the main visitors’ centre. You can also enjoy an array of water sports, including sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing.
Pitsford village boasts a great village pub with more pubs, cafés, village shops and amenities in nearby Brixworth, Spratton and Chapel Brampton. It’s ideally situated for many attractions, activities and popular market towns. Locally, there are several stately homes and gardens, and there is no shortage of great golf courses with a choice of three within a few miles.
The market towns of Northampton (6 miles), Market Harborough (14 miles), Wellingborough (12 miles), Kettering (13 miles) and Daventry (16 miles) are all easily accessible and each has an array of shops, bars and restaurants. Slightly further afield but within easy driving distance is Warwick, famous for its castle and race course; Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare and the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre; and Rutland Water where you can enjoy many more water sports, wildlife spotting, walking and cycling.
There are many stately homes to visit including Althorp House (Princess Diana’s ancestral home and final resting place), Holdenby House, Lamport Hall and gardens, Kelmarsh Hall, Delapre Abbey and Canons Ashby. Theatre lovers will find good theatres in many of the local towns offering a range of productions. For motor sports enthusiasts, Silverstone is 22 miles away, and both the British Motor Museum and the National Motor Cycle Museum are within an hour’s drive.
