Like the movie Hostel? IT'S LIKE A HORROR MOVIE!
We arrived to a deserted resort-literally only one there. The outside was very unkept. My wife was literally shuffling through spider webs to get the key. Once you gain access it is quite pleasant, however definitely not secure. Especially if the only people staying there, it can be quite daunting. We tried to make do & settled in & decided to enjoy the hot tub which was too cold to tolerate. We then proceeded to the sauna & couldn't even warm the shivers from the hot tub. So we decided to put on our robes provided & sit in the two person salt room. We were so cold after ten minutes we decided to retire to bed. We were on a trip where I was meant to be staying with friends on a surf vacation, and my wife relaxing stress-free at the Wellness retreat. Unfortunately, we did not feel safe at all, and she was not able to enjoy any of the amenities. I did not feel comfortable leaving her there alone so I kindly went to the front desk to pay for the night we stayed but ask for a refund on the additional booked evening so that we may move locations & feel secure. I simply asked the two owners that arrived the next morning (Portuguese & Australian) if it would be possible to get a refund on the second night. I was told no & lecture by the Aussie about "how it was a business" After discussing, we were then told our second night would be refunded & proceeded to check out. After over a month & multiple attempts to contact with no response, we still do not have a refund. DO NOT WASTE $
