Great beach place for the money
This hotel is right on the beach. Our downstairs room was small but clean and comfortable. We walked out right onto the beach. The staff was friendly and efficient.

This is a tired budget motel. The bed wasn’t that comfortable and the place had a worn down feeling about it.

The room itself is a little outdated and one of the bathroom walls has water stains and cracks in it that haven't been repaired properly. Floor squeaks in places. BUT the view of the ocean from the first floor room is beautiful! We can lie in bed and view — and hear — the ocean. Just a short walk from the back door to the beach. There are two chairs on the back porch to view the beach. Picnic tables and benches line the property. Other nice touches: mini frig, microwave, small table and 2 chairs in room. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Location is the highlight of this motel. Everything else was what you would expect from a 2 star property. They didn't have fitted sheets which was annoying. The layout of our suite was bizarre, the only private bedroom was also the only entry/exit. As we had our 1 year old daughter with us, that meant once she went down to sleep in the bedroom we were stuck inside the motel. This layout quirk wasn't apparent from the photos, which seems a bit deceptive. Dishes and cups were mostly clean but there was some residue on the pots. Housekeeping was very efficient -- you just put your trash and dirty linens out and they replaced them later in the day. Walls were thin but that's to be expected. Would I stay here again? For the price, yes. Just bring earplugs.

2nd floor had an AMAZING view. Dirty towels left in the bathroom from the last guest didnt inspire trust in the cleanliness. Heavy spray used to cover up the smokey smell. The room was very large but the last update was in the late 70's. The staff at check-in was great.

A birthday trip
This is an older motel but it's hard to beat being able to walk out a back door to a path to the beach. We watched the sun go down from the little patio. The bed and especially the pillows could have been more comfortable.

Great place to stay. Is was everything this family of 4 needed. The view was absolutely breathtaking and to listen to the ocean. We honestly couldn’t ask for more. Lots of great food close by and coffee just a block away. Thanks again silver sands. We will be back.
