A Surla Houseboat is a sailing summer residence. Our water villas are fully equipped, 100% ecological and self-sufficient. Luxury, comfort and respect for nature come together here. From April/May on the houseboat is docked on open water. This houseboat is built in 2023.
There is a spacious living room with a couch, dining table, tv, pellet stove and sliding doors to the front terrace with outdoor chairs. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cooker, fridge, oven, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. There's also a table-top freezer in the utility room. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink and a dry toilet. There are 3 bedrooms on the houseboat. Two bedrooms with hotel beds (1.80 x 2.00m), especially designed for Surla Houseboats. The third bedroom has a bunk bed (0.90 x 2.00m). Via outside stairs you can go to the spacious rooftop terrace (24m2) where there is a lounge set to enjoy beautifull sunrises and sunsets. Last but not least: on the back terrace is a warm outdoor shower, great after a swim.
Before arrival:
The check-in time is between 15.00 and 18.00pm. Earlier check-in is not possible due to cleaning of the houseboat.
Meetingpoint: please park your car on the verge at Huigsloterdijk 348 in Buitenkaag. Do not drive directly to this home address, but park for free along the water in the verge.
We have a host available: She will take you to the houseboat with the dinghy. Please inform the host your expected arrival time. This host is also available during your stay for questions or emergencies. You will receive her phone number with the check-in instructions one week before arrival.
In the summer (wheather permitting), Surla puts the houseboat in a beautiful spot/location on the lake. The houseboat remains in place by means of spud poles. In bad weather conditions, a Surla employee will put the houseboat in a sheltered place (De Keverhaven). This can also happen during your rental period, because we don't want to take any risks.
Surla Tender (Dinghy):
During your stay we provide a dinghy.
This aluminum tender is included during the rental of the houseboat.
It is important that you start the tender with the trottle in Neutral. Do you want to lock the tender when you are not using it? Also at night?
Sail slowly! Place the tender at the front or back of the houseboat. Gently moor so that there is no damage to the houseboat or tender.
We will charge for damage immediately.
The tender is fully fueled upon your arrival. The request is to fill it up again before checking out (Gasoline 98), so that the next guests also have a full tank. You can refuel at Bsl Watersport Huigsloterdijk 400 in Buitenkaag or at
Van Schie Watersports: Zijldijk 11 in Warmond.
You can also put the amount on the table in cash: 40 euros for an empty tank and 20 euros for half a tank. If the tender has not been refueled and no money has been left behind on departure, we will charge the costs afterwards.
NOTE:
* Surla rents out several houseboats at different locations. It is possible that the location, the floorplan of the houseboat and the interior in the photos differs from the actual houseboat. All our houseboats were built in 2022-2023.
*The houseboat is not suitable for small children. Swimming certificates are highly recommended. We will not recommend the houseboat for people with walking difficulties.
*We advise you to do necessary shopping before boarding. Standard on board is a few Nespresso coffee capsules, milk, sugar, tea, oil, pepper, salt and a few toilet rolls. We have towels and the beds are made for your arrival.
*There is no public transport nearby. Everything has to be done with the dinghy, such as visiting a restaurant or a supermarket.
*We don't let our guests sail with the Surla houseboat themselves, but a dinghy is included in the rent. Sail at walking pace with the dinghy, we are guests on the water. Any fines are for your own account.
*No parties allowed.
* We have a camera that faces outward, and it hangs outside on the front deck. This turns off as soon as the guests come on board. So it is purely for safety if there are no guests. There are no cameras inside.
Our Surla Houseboats are built sustainably and are 100% self-sufficient. We have ingenious systems on board that allow you to recreate without going on shore power, and we also have filter systems that mean we don't have to have water tanks on board. We are guests on the water and have done everything possible to implement 100% off-grid and ecologically responsible solutions.
We would love to welcome you as guests to create beautiful memories with this unique experience.
