Such a beautiful home
We had a fabulous week staying in Joans beautiful home. We were three families, in total a combination of twelve adults and teenagers. The house is very spacious and airy and there was plenty of room for all of us. The photos do not do justice to the charm and elegance of this property. Joan was incredibly kind, responsive and helpful host at all times.
It is a few minutes walk from the house to the centre of the town of Palafrugell, vibrant and lively with a wonderful market every morning for delicious fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, cheeses etc. We also thoroughly recommend a trip to the cork museum, for a new appreciation of cork! The road outside the house is a busy one way street and I am sensitive to noise, though this wasnt really a problem as the calmness of the house was so relaxing, I soon ceased to notice it. The outdoor space at the back of the house is quieter and we made full use of the barbeque, huge shady parasol and outdoor furniture, and ate outside round a big table in the evenings.
The nearest beach is Calella de Palafrugell, which was busy in the heat of August, but at the same time very relaxed and calm. Wonderful and fascinating for snorkelling with lots of amazing coloured fish. We were glad we hired a car in the end as the beaches were too far to walk. I would say there is something for everyone in Palafrugell and I would not hesitate to recommend Joan and his stylish home. I certainly hope to return.
