The property is a bit dated but clean and in a good location. Free parking is a definite plus.

Staff were great. Outside around the property there was a raw sewage odor my entire stay. When I first walked-in from outside, there was a distinct odor inside, also. I woke up every morning to a raw sewage odor filling my room. It's hard to blame Rio as just about anywhere I went around the strip I was hit with the same raw sewage smell. Disgusting.

The parking garage is dirty and full of liter. The outside premises smells of urine and drains smell of disgusting sewage. The elevators seem unsafe and are extremely dirty. The New Year’s Eve band was horrible and the next day the tables & chairs from the people who sat to hear the band the whole area was filthy and still not cleaned up for two nights after NYE. This hotel is less than satisfactory and the employees are unpleasant and have zero customer service experience especially security.

Poor and disappointing
To be honest I have stayed in Rio a few times before and this was honestly the worst of my stays. The room service was poor as could not get through to service desk for room cleaning. The Masquerade tower was where I was placed and for the money I paid I expected a lot better. Equipment in rooms is dated and poor such as lighting around mirrors,room phones are old and no hand portable phones,some of the towels were in a terrible condition. Toilets were not the best of a flush. Tv was not best service or condition either. The front desk also asked for more money to upgrade but I did not know they were referring to the Ipanema tower which I heard were or have been refurbished. Very very poor and disappointing service overall. I will not be coming back not for the foreseeable.
