Located in the grounds of the historic 1830's Kippilaw Homestead property, the Kippilaw Stonehouse is a dream country getaway for couples.
Set on a 400 acre cattle farm, with 10 acres of beautiful gardens, 2 horses, 4 alpacas and a shed full of chickens, and with access to the property tennis court and swimming pool (in the warmer months), the Stonehouse is newly renovated, bringing together new appliances and a fresh bathroom and kitchen with unique historical touches, all overlooking the Wollondilly River. The 400 acre working farm also hosts black angus cows and their calves.
The Kippilaw Estate is one of the first grand residences in the colony of New South Wales, dating back to the 1830s. The stonehouse within Kippilaw has been lushly renovated, whilst retaining many original character features that reflect its rich history.
The stonehouse is in a private enclosed acreage shared with the shearers quarters, within the broader Kippilaw estate.
The stonehouse sleeps 2, with a queen bed in the bedroom and a luxurious, newly renovated bathroom.
It has an open fireplace and firewood supplied for the cooler months. There is also an outdoors fire pit for the winters and a bbq on the balcony overlooking the river, if you would rather a casual meal rather than using the newly renovated kitchen.
Breakfast for the first morning (cereal, milk, eggs, coffee and tea) is provided, and guests are welcome to help themselves to further eggs and vegetables (when in season and available from the chicken shed and orchard/vegetable garden).
There is a dedicated car space proximate to the stonehouse.
Full access to the fenced acre for guests, and ready access to the grounds of the historic Kippilaw estate itself with rose gardens, orchards, a tennis court and pool, along with farm animals (chickens, alpacas and a pony and horse).
Situated in Goulburn, the stonehouse is a 15 minute drive through stunning southern tablelands countryside from Goulburn's main street, which hosts all the amenities you would expect of a town of 20,000 people.
The stonehouse is private and, together with the shearers quarters, separate from the main Kippilaw estate. Guests are left to relax in their own space.
Apart from the owners of the property, we have a resident manager who lives onsite, but normally out of view of the stonehouse. Onsite assistance is hence available if required, and we are a phone call away if required.
The stonehouse has been a working part of this historic piece of Australian history, and is now available for short stay vacations.
The property is between 10 and 15 minutes from Goulburn train station and town. There is car parking right next to the stonehouse.
** Strictly no parties, no guests more than the nominated capacity of guests per room may enter thr grounds and unfortunately we cannot host anyone that is not a paying guest in accomodation onsite, on our grounds.
