Amazing pet friendly stay
We had another amazing stay at this property. The kitchen is well equipped for whipping up a meal, there are lots of towels and extra blankets plus laundry amenities and a cozy fireplace which is perfect for a rainy winter stay.Above all, it is pet friendly and the perfect location…only a 5 minute walk to Rathtrevor and nearby forest trails. We’ve stayed before and we will stay again!

Felt Like Home
We spent a glorious three weeks at the Forest Hideaway. It was peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we needed after a very busy season in our lives. It was very clean and well appointed, everything we needed and more! We brought our 11-year-old dog for her last trip to the ocean, her favourite place on earth. Home away from home.
Forest Hideaway was the best place we’ve stayed at in Parksville. Close to the beach and amenities in Parksville. The cabin was well stocked with everything you need. Bed was comfortable and the place spotless. Alexis was great for communicating. Thanks for everything Alexis.

A wonderful retreat
My daughter, granddaughter and granddog and I all stayed here for two nights. I've been staying at VRBO's and the like for about 15 years and this stay was one of the most seamless and enjoyable. Everything was as advertised and the kitchen was better stocked than most. The location is terrific - away from downtown Parksville, surrounded by wonderful trees and just a short walk down a hill to the beach that goes for miles. The place felt open and full of light while also being warm and cozy. Alexis was super responsive with all of our questions and made the whole experience a breeze. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again hopefully for a longer trip as two nights was not long enough!

Woodland getaway
Backs onto nice wild section of Rathtrevor Park The community has nice landscaping and large trees throughout, and has a great beach which is located at the bottom of a steep incline , The people we encountered were sociable and helpful . The historic Black Goose is a short walk from the accommodation . Very pet friendly and close to other nice spots to visit. Recommended.

Another amazing stay
We returned to the forest hideaway again this year and found it even better than before. The host is super nice and very responsive to questions and needs. It was fully stocked with everything we needed for a fabulous holiday. The beach is perfect for young children as it is shalllow and goes on for miles at low tide.

Family retreat
My husband and I arrived with our daughter and two grandkids, ages 6 & 9. It was the perfect retreat for us, the backyard nestled in beside the great forest of Rathtrevor Park, and the beach only a couple minutes walk down the road. The place is so clean and quiet. Absolutely everything you need for your stay is right there… laundry, extra blankets and pillows, beach towels and toys for the kids, gas range, etc. Also the nearby amenities were amazing, groceries, shopping etc only a few minutes drive away. And lots of things to do for the kids, goofy gulf, adventure park, butterfly garden, Coombs etc. We would definitely return!

Love it!
We're repeat customers at this place, we love it! Highly recommend. The location is superb, just a short walk to the beach, mini golf, and rathtrevor. The home has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. And a beautiful backyard bordered by the rathtrevor woods. We saw deer most mornings along with bunnies and many birds! We plan to return once again next year!

Excellent vacation cottage for a big group!
We had a great stay at forest hideaway- were impressed by the arrangement that fit nicely all of us (big group of 6 ppl various age group plus a pet). Clean, tasteful decor, spacious, close to beach, well stocked kitchen, easy check-in/ out process- top marks! Only feedback would be when it is hot - say 20c or so hard to cool the place down without an a/c.

Forest Hideaway in Tanglewood
The property was lovely, in a fabulous location, very close to the beach. The weather was perfect for sitting on the quiet, shaded deck. Our stay was very relaxing. The host, Alexis, responded quickly to any questions we had.

“Forest Hideaway by the Ocean” is the place you want to be for a relaxing vacation
This property is exactly as described on the VRBO site. It is immaculate, comfortable and stocked with everything you would need for your getaway. Located in a beautifully maintained neighborhood, it's close to all the amenities Parksville has to offer and many wonderful restaurants. Rathtrevor Provincial Park is just a couple of minutes walk from the front door, with beautiful coastal walking trails, picnic areas and a beach that stretches for miles. Alexis was a very gracious and accommodating host who promptly responded to any questions we had. We highly recommend this property and definitely hope to stay here again.
