Traditional Lake District cottage in peaceful location

Middle Farm Cottage is a 17th century farmhouse set in the quiet, hamlet of Mosedale in the beautiful countryside of the Northern Fells in the Lake District National Park. Recently renovated the cottage has a traditional, cosy feel with great views across the valley. There is a fully equipped fitted kitchen with washing machine, a separate dining area, and a sitting area with WiFi, TV and DVD. One bedroom with double bed and en-suite wetroom with walk in shower.
Situated in a rural area at the foot of Carrock Fell, and near Blencathra and Skiddaw there are many great walks setting off from the doorstep or go wild swimming in the nearby river or Bowscale tarn. Nearby pubs, The Mill at Mungrisdale (1.5 miles) The Old Crown at Hesket Newmarket (5 miles) serve food and drinks. A quiet location but just a short drive to Keswick, Derwent Water, Ullswater, Thirlmere and Bassenthwaite lakes. Great for the lakes
A lovely spot for our two night stay. Quiet and off the beaten track, but not hard to get to, cosy and well-appointed. An excellent gastropub nearby and a short drive to the attractions in the lakes.

Lovely Lake District
We had a wonderful time. The cottage was very nice, in the country, close enough to trails and town. We ventured out every day to a new trail in a new location. THANK YOU for providing such a nice cottage. My husband especially liked watching the lambs playing in the field across the road.

Classic English country experience near Keswick
We thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay at Middle Farm Cottage - it offers an authentic rural English cottage experience in a beautiful setting, at an affordable price, and within just 15 minutes of Keswick. The cottage was clean, spacious, and charmingly decorated, and Jim was a responsive and helpful host. We highly recommend this charming accommodation!

Fantastic cottage in a peaceful and tranquil rural location. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The milk in the fridge and biscuits on the table were a lovely and kind gesture from our host. I would rate this property 10/10.

Scenic, quiet, wonderful cottage
Of all the VRBOs we have stayed in over the years..nothing, in my mind, can compare to this! The cottage itself was so clean, very well stocked with necessaries and the surroundings are the most incredibly beautiful I have ever seen! We so totally enjoyed our stay, and though the weather was quite chilly and wet, we were snug and warm inside the cottage. We rented a car and I must say, the narrow winding roads , the roundabouts and driving on the left side of the road were rather terrifying at first, but we gained courage after a couple of days and managed to get our rental car back to Penrith unscathed. Other than that everything was perfect. We walked in the area, visited a few nearby pubs where the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Mill House in Mungrisdale and the Old Crown in Heskit New Market..both a short drive away. I can't wait to return. I am a handspinner and knitter and I was totally in my element here with the thousands of sheep everywhere. I wish I could go back for 3 months with all my equipment. I would bury my grandchildren in woollen knits!! Thank you, Jim for the most enjoyable stay we have ever had..anywhere. We loved it beyond measure!!

Relaxing wedding anniversary break
We stayed in this pretty cottage from 1st to 5th April, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break, the milk and biscuits were a welcome surprise. With a great suntrap garden and beautiful views over the surrounding fields of sheep and lambs, and the mountains, it is perfectly positioned for visits to both Keswick and Penrith. If you decide to book this cottage, you will not be disappointed, it is really lovely.

Beautiful Location so peaceful
Idea base for exploring. Accommodation was adequate with equipped kitchen and comfortable living area and reading matter. Bathroom spacious but not fully disability friendly as no grab rails or shelving in shower so needing to put shampoo etc on shower floor. Also shelf above sink which I managed to hit my forehead on when brushing teeth. Also no Wifi at property and mobile signal poor at times. Peaceful sitting area outside but car parking was interesting as we have large estate car.
