When you stay at a Holiday Inn you're not getting the Ritz so don't expect it. What we got was a very clean hotel, rooms were comfortable and fine and the bed was lovely. What i did like was the room had a choice of pillows, soft or firm where most hotel rooms will just lump you with whatever they want. The hotel was convenient as it was a short 8 min walk to the nearest subway station. There were bars and restaurants literlly at your doorstep which was great. Self parking was fine with the public car park next door that you can go in and out of with your room key. The free breakfast was the standard fare at Holiday Inns and was absolutely fine. Philly was an amazing city which we will come back and see again and we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express. What i want most from a hotel is a clean, comfortable stay in a safe area and this hotel ticked all 3 boxes.

Husband and I went to Philly on a Friday night to see a concert, and stayed Saturday to hit some shops. Great hotel. Staff was great. Initially we parked in the wrong garage. We checked in on Wednesday and stayed for 4 days. Prior to checking in, I even called the hotel to make sure the pool was open. I was traveling with my 13 year old daughter, and it was the one thing we had wanted for our trip. -rooftop pool. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk informed me it was closed for maintenance and end of the season. This was super disappointing. I asked if there was as anything they could do. I wish they could have refunded our trip, and we would have stayed at another hotel with a pool. I understand things happen, but I wish they could have upgraded our room to a room with a view at least or taken money off of our stay. The housekeeping was super friendly, and the continental breakfast was decent. My daughter liked the cinnamon rolls. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Hotel location was within walking distance of many places.
