Not great but okay for a night or two
Need to find a place to crash for two nights to help my son to move in his new apartment. Despite the high ratings that I saw, the hotel is quite average. It looks old, feels old, and smells old. The bed is too soft to give any decent support. No one showed up to clean the room the next day. Reserved a king bed but received a queen. Not exactly what I expected.

The front desk clerk who checked me in was incredible rude. Also, if you are disabled, unless it’s a wheelchair, you aren’t getting up the stairs from the main entrance.

The bedding was not changed when I went to go to bed. It was disgusting. Dirty as if someone had peed the bed and then the sheets were never changed. Absolutely awful experience

I guess I cannot fault the front desk employee for attempting to charge me an absurd $30 for checking in at 2:48 pm instrad of 3 p.m. because she appeared embarrassed to ell me about the "early check in fee." I was pretty upset because staying at the hotel was a last minute decision compelled by the fact that my dad had just suffered a stroke and i needed to get to Pittsburgh fast to be with him at a hospital by the hotel. Hearing about the fee was a bridge too far that day and i couldnt help but cry. The fee was waived and the hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was polite. But i still cant believe that this was how i was greeted and the timing was terrible.

Elevator interior could use a little updating ... But I'm being nit-picky. The staff was very kind and efficient! Food options were excellent! Centrally located in Pittsburgh with attractions in walking distance. My wife and I will come again!

An absolutely charming place with a sense of history and almost exclusively kind and enthusiastic service. A mini-library people actually use, true old-style comfort, a cozy reastaurant/bar on the main floor, and tons of amazing cheapish places to eat in the middle of the Pittsburgh college neighborhood right outside the door. Worth it at twice the price.

Great for a College Visit
Went for a college visit and it is the perfect place to stay. About a 10 minute walk to campus, the staff was friendly and gave use great recommendations. The parking seemed a little expensive is my ONLY complaint. If she decides to attend I will try and stay here again.
