Lives up to the reviews!
This is one of the few rentals I have had that really lived up to the past great reviews! Quiet, out of the way location (but easy to access), beautiful scenery, on-site welcoming and helpful hosts, accommodations nicely decorated (loved the birdhouses!) and clean and neat. Thanks for a great weekend!

This was quite a place to stay. The only negative is that is is hard to find. Marianne and Larry were excellent host. If using google maps use 143 Lake Drive and it will guide you there.

Amazing - bigger and better than expected!
All parts of our stay exceeded our expectations. Our hosts were kind and warm without intruding at all - the Bunkhouse provided more than enough space for my husband, my self, and our large dogs. The deck was lovely, the bed comfortable, the entire space incredibly clean. The shower was hot and the kitchen had everything we needed (not a full range with oven - but toaster oven, coffee maker, hot plate, microwave). The craftsmanship that went into building the Bunkhouse (built within the last 20 or so years ) is evident - the care, upkeep, and mountain decor is unmatched. Really lovely. Staying at the Bunkhouse was an experience of a lifetime for anyone looking to stage their stay close to incredible hiking, views, and breath in some clean mountain air. We saw elk, blue jays, and of course deer. Close to Telluride, Ouray, Ridgway, Montrose (Mount Sneffels and Mount Wilson) we were able to easily access these beautiful locations but skipped the hustle and bustle of so many tourists. We will def stay here again as we continue exploring the better side of the Rockies.

Great Place!
We loved our stay at the Bunkhouse! We didn’t spend too much time there, as we were in town for a wedding & some hiking in the San Juan’s, but it was a very cozy and comfortable place to come back to!! We spent one evening on the porch which was very enjoyable. Hosts in the main house happened to be outside when we arrived and were so sweet! My husband spent some time chatting with Marianne and their sweet pup, Mandy. We will be back if we can find openings!!! It would be great around fall time!!

Cozy mountain getaway in stunning location
Everything about our stay in this cozy cabin was fantastic. It was just enough space for my partner and I and our dog to visit Telluride and Ouray for the weekend. The property was secluded, but in the most beautiful setting. Lighting the wood stove to heat up our cozy cabin on the frigid fall nights was the perfect end to a day exploring the area. The hosts were so friendly and kind, and made this a one of a kind experience. GPS directions and check-in were smooth, cabin was well appointed and charming. Would love to return next fall for the perfect escape.

Lovely fall getaway
The bunkhouse was a perfect cozy cabin while we came to town to see the golden aspens. We loved the drive in, the room was spacious and cozy, and the hosts were extremely kind. We had our two dogs with us and we took them out into a field to watch sunset and the take in the mountains. They had just as good of a time as we did! We will definitely stay again. Few notes: the bed isn’t super comfy, plan for a 45-50 min drive into Telluride, and the shower water got cold the second day
