Nice hotel in a great city
Location of the hotel was great...just a few minutes from both the main train station and the city center. The hotel is located across the street from a beautiful lake. Check-in was easy and the room was nice with a beautiful bathroom. The two negatives were slow Wifi and check-out was really stressful. I had prepaid the reservation on hotels.com and it took forever for them to finally verify this. Then they tried to charge me 15 euros for a breakfast I didn't eat. Really nice hotel but they have to fix the checkout procedures.

Delightful hotel
This is a delightful boutique hotel in an amazing location. The hotel is on the edge of one of the city's most beautiful lakes, and within very easy walking distance of the centre. The hotel itself is decorated with taste and sensitivity, and as comfortable as one could ask. No issues at all.

Great place to stay
This was a great hotel. It has a small town feel while being large enough to have all the amenities you would want. The room and bathroom were spacious. The staff spoke English even though I don’t think this town gets a lot of English speaking visitors. The hotel was walking distance from the small Christmas market and to Schwerin palace.

No aircon and with windows open there is lots of road noise, but not all night. The bed was a little on the lumpy side but overall the bedroom and bathroom were acceptable. Food good and polite staff

Charming and Cute Hotel
The room/hotel was clean and in a perfect location, close to both the train station and Schwerin Castle. While it doesn't have AC, my room didn't need it during my stay in late May. The windows open and provide a cool breeze from the waterfront.

This is a beautifully decorated and furnished hotel, a short walk from the railway station and next to the lake in the centre of town. I found the staff unfriendly though and not very customer focussed, the best way to describe it would be to say it felt as though the manager was away and the staff were enjoying the break! It is an old building and there was no air conditioning in my room. The weather was warm when I was visiting in August and when I asked for a fan for my room I was told that they didn't have any. For a hotel positioning itself at the top end of the market, this struck me as a bit poor.

A very nice hotel for a moderate price
You will enjoy staying at the Niederländischer Hof Schwerin. The location provides a great view of the lake and an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. The castle is only a few minutes walk as well. The room was outstanding: roomy, well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast (for additional cost) was very nice with a full complement of options. You will love this place.

Nice hotel close to city center and train station

Classic old hotel, neatly refurbished.
I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The rooms were simple, with flourishes of luxury. The feather beds were new and perfect for the coolish winter weather. The bathrooms, while kind of small, had all been redone in black veined marble - very nice. There was an electric towel heater. Downstairs, they furnished a very nice breakfast for a supplement. It's right on the teich, dowb the block from the Haupt Bahnhoff, and you could not ask for a kinder concierge. I loved the large old fashioned keys that you picked up at the front desk. An old world experience, not to be missed if you appreciate that sort of thing, and I do.

Lovely traditional hotel in a great location
This is a great hotel choice in Scherwin. It is quite convenient to the train station in a lovely location along the lake. The rooms are traditional and comfortable as is the lobby. The only small problem we had with our room is that the lamp shades are not made for people who like to read in bed--the light is directed down and is very hard to direct onto your book. Our bathroom was large and well appointed. Service was very good. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. A computer is available free of charge in the lobby. The bar just off the lobby is very comfortable. We were even given a voucher for a complimentary sherry which we very much enjoyed. We did not have breakfast provided in our room rate and found the charge for the full breakfast a bit too high. We wished that they had had a continental breakfast as an option. Instead, we just ate at a local coffee shop.

Grand Hotel!
A wonderful staff, cuisine exceptional, and rooms quite large and elegant with a wonderful lakeview from the front rooms! Worth the trip to stay there. I would not consider staying anywhere else in Schwerin! It is my favorite hotel in Germany!
