Had an amazing time at the Reef28 and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends who want an all inclusive. The food was amazing, the staff extremely friendly and the amenities perfect. I would like to give a special shout-out to these people: the cleaning people who left our room immaculate every time, and our servers: Alondra, Paul, Kevin, Juan and Ritchie. Thanks to Felipe also for his warm welcoming gifts.

I really enjoyed my stay at Reef 28. As a solo female traveller I appreciated the welcoming and helpful staff at the resort, especially Eli at the concierge desk. No one was pushy and I didn't constantly feel like I was being sold to. The food choices at the resort were varied, and fine, the Mexican choices were the best. I was hoping for a bit more authentic flavour but I guess they have to cater to more standard tourist tastes. Great location to wander down to the beach or explore the shopping streets.

3/4 of my group got food poisoning some of the worst any of us have had. Didn’t eat anywhere other than the hotel and it started on day 2/3 of a 7 day trip. Most of the staff seem angry all the time. Food is always like warm or cold for the sit down dinner. Items don’t have much flavor or just don’t taste that good. Not horrible but not good. Pool chlorine was so high it’s insane. The other sister Reef hotel in Playacar was a much better spot to visit I recommend staying there.

Great value near everything.
Good value for price. Located near Mamitas Beach Club and 5the Avenue. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast was included and buffet style or in restaurant. There is a rooftop bar. Pool also on rooftop was small, not lap poo. Gym was basic and a little under par. Over all liked our stay.

THE ROOFTOP POOL IS NOT HEATED!!! The property staff friendliness was inconsistent. The king size bed was weirdly small where my feet hung off. The handheld shower wand was broken. The service was really odd; we could wait for 20 minutes with a empty drink, but if we acted like we were going to leave the staff would sprint to us because the property has guests sign for a check (because they want a tip) for any food or drink received. Signing for a check was a reminder that even though the property is listed as an all-inclusive (with tips included) it is not. I always tip at all-inclusive resorts, but this seemed worse as the itemized food/drink prices were ridiculously high. For example, a coke was priced at 70 Pesos. For context, 5th Ave beer prices rarely exceeded 50 Pesos each. Not everything was disappointing. Some staff was friendly. Other staff only did the bare minimum then sneered at us. I've been to more than 10 all-inclusives in Riviera Maya and I'll never return to Reef 28 again.

This is my third time staying at reef 28. Whats there not to like? The service, food, and location are excellent!
