Playacar offers great all inclusive resorts, but we keep coming back at The Reef Playacar. Great service, personalized and honest smiles. Our family had a worderful time, again. During our last night chef Acosta prepared a special Mexican dinner just for us. A 3-course meal that was Top-notch! Full of flavor! Thank you very much.

We are repeat visitors to the Reef Playacar. This was either our 8th or 9th time here. We keep coming back because it has a more boutique hotel feel, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Looks like they have upgraded some of the decor in the rooms and refreshed the dining are which made it seem much more upscale. Also this is one of the few hotels that cleans up the saggrasium every day although this time there was very little.

I absolutely loved everything about the property and staff. Me and my family enjoyed the amenities of the reef. During check in/out i was overly stressed and the staff assisted me with calming words and for that im forever grateful. The main and only thing i didnt like was not having accessible water in the dorm fridge during the duration of the stay.

Great hotel although smaller than others in the area. They have only one buffet so they run out of options early on. Get there early! Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean.

Like many reviews mention, food is VERY bland. I read those reviews before booking and thought I’d take a chance as I’m not the picky type. I did eat at the buffet and the Mexican restaurant and it did the job of killing the hunger but definitely was very poor quality food. Very tasteless and plain. I had a burger at the snack bar and it was probably the worst and cheapest (quality not price) burger I’ve ever had, like school cafeteria type of quality. My family is more selective than me and they are very little because of how bland the food was. And as for the Mexican restaurant, I never thought that the worst fajitas I ever had would be in Mexico. Do yourself a favor and skip the all inclusive package and just eat out for real food. Rooms were also dirty and flors full of sand. You couldn’t walk bare feet without a bunch of stuff sticking to your feet in the rooms. On a positive, every employee I interacted with was very friendly and pleasant.

Charged me for exclusive bar access but I wasn’t being served because there was a wedding. The food was terrible and there was flys on top of the food. Check in was awkward and they didn’t help us with our bags. When booking the view was a big part of our decision because it was a beach front view. When we arrived to our room our view was a parking lot and a dirty rooftop

Not your typical all inclusive resort. I will never stay here ever again that’s for sure! To small not worth the money they charge , food was not good. some staff was rude! The drinks are disgusting the bartenders are mean not so friendly they will Take care of you on their time. People pay decent money to stay here but have nothing to offer. When I got checked in the guy said nothing to me about the resort or reservations for restaurants just gave me my and sent me off to my room ! Very disappointed I’m dead serious stay away from this place not worth your money for this dump full of ungrateful rude people! Food is disappointing and drinks are disgusting!! O and don’t believe the trip excursion people they will Say what they want to get your money!!! Buy your own excursions with trip advisor or other agencies on line plan your own vacation stay away from all those scammers !!!!! If you do not wanna be disappointed, stay away from this place I’m serious!!!

Horrible vacation. Concierge is just another attempt to get you to "upgrade" your all inclusive package or book excursions. "All inclusive" is not all inclusive. Different color bracelets allow you to have access to different areas of resort,beach, and alcohol choices or bars for an additional charge.The room was a plain. No coffee maker. No ice bucket or ice machine. They do not stock the mini fridge. Beds and pillows were HARD and uncomfortable.Toilet wouldnt flush.They came to fix it twice but I still had to remove the lid to the tank and mess with it after anyone used it.Shower leaked onto floor horribly.Leak spraying out of tile grout when you shower. The window in bathroom was stuck open and the handle to close was broken off.Walls are thin.Heard a child crying all day/night the whole time we were there.Housekeeping closets were right bedside bedroom doors and you could hear them talking and walkie talkie noises very early in the morning.Not enough chairs around pools for guests.Guests would place a towel and leave for hours and come back to their "saved chairs."Buffet was average. Hot foods were cold and food that was suppose to be cold were warm.Service was hit or miss.Had a whole meal without being offered water or a beverage.Didnt get to eat at the 2 a la carte restaurants as they only take 2 reservations per hour and were booked they entire 4 days I was there.Bar service slow.The color of your bracelet determines your level of service.GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Para cenar en los restaurantes que no son buffet hay que reservar por la mañana hasta cierto horario, me gustaría que se pudiera aun por la tarde (si ya no hay espacio comprendo). Como todos estos hoteles de all inclusive te quieren vender su plan para captarte por varios años y te hace una muestra de venta, por la cual te dan un cupón de descuento para actividades. Te dicen que dura hora y media, pero fue casi las 2 horas, te ven 3 personas distintas que te repiten la misma información una y otra vez, entiendo que insistan un poco para convencerte pero me pareció innecesario escuchar la misma información y repetir ejemplos para usarlos.

Very good trip. Unfortuntately we were there during the hurricane. The food was very good. Not enough staff bt the ones that were working went out of our way, especially Jose Carbajal, from the moment we arrived.they shoukd be oroud to hae someone that makes customers feel so comfortable.
