Nice hotel, good location only 15 minutes walk to Blue Bay - this can be walked along the road or along the beach. Although the beach at the hotel is small, you can walk for several km along the beach in either direction (as all beach in Mauritius is public), just requires a mix of walking on sand, in the sea, and scrambling over rocks! Free kayaks a big bonus. Staff are excellent and very friendly. Meals overly expensive - better to walk to nearby restaurants to eat at about 1/3 of the price, of which there are two or three within 15 mins. Wifi is free but was non-existent for about half of my stay. There is parking and a car would be useful if you want to explore more than the immediate surrounds. Easterly prevailing winds in winter can mean beach is rather cold and there is not much to do nearby.

"Lovely stay for our honeymoon at Veranda Pointe Aux Biches. A quiet hotel with it's own private beach and gorgeous sea view rooms. We would highly recommend the Sandy Lane adults only part of the resort, and the day's catamaran trip was fantastic."
