Where's the restaurant?
The suite was very good. I specified a room with a walk-in shower and that's what we got. However there was no grab bar in the shower and the shower floor was slippery. There was a grab bar next to the toilet so why not in the shower too?
Why are all the beds in hotels so high? If you're not 5"10" or taller you cannot just sit on the edge of the bed!
But this is the case in every place I've been in recent years, not just Holiday Inn.
So take a step stool with you if you are just average height or shorter.
The restaurant was closed for renovations and I did not know about it until after I made the reservation. I might have chosen a different hotel. They did compensate for this by providing 10 - 15% discounts at various nearby restaurants. We took advantage of a few of them but a restaurant in the hotel is much better. There was a reasonably priced breakfast buffet. It was OK in terms of the food and very good in terms of the service.
The new restaurant will be a French restaurant, "Chez Lionel", when it opens. A more family oriented restaurant might be better but I don't know what the menu will be like.
The door into the room was extremely heavy. My wife could barely open it. And watch out when it closes behind you! It could knock over a child or an elderly person.
But even with all that force it did not lock on its own and had to be shut tightly by hand.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
