Housing

Independent apartment on an open space of 41 m2 on the 1st floor of a pretty very old stone house, overlooking the entrance to the first pool. At 30 m you will be on the port with its quay fishing boats, its cafes with terraces where you can have lunch facing the trawlers.
Nearby all shops: bakery, delicatessen, gifts and seafood restaurants ...
The sea and the fish market within 100 meters,
with direct sale with a daily supply of fresh fish and the possibility of having seafood platters prepared.

This charming apartment, completely renovated in 2018, is very well equipped. It preserves the spirit and the history of this 16th century residence while benefiting from the best services. It is designed for 2 people, (possibility of a baby cot on request).

Organized in the form of a tray of approximately 41 m2:
Entrance with dressing room open onto living space including lounge with large flat screen TV connected to the internet and with Wi-Fi access - fully equipped kitchen - bathroom with double sink unit, shower, hairdryer - bedroom with a large bed good quality (160x200) (sleeping area well separated by blackout curtains) - separate wc.

Tastefully decorated and retaining all its historic and authentic elements, a stone spiral staircase serving the apartments, period fireplace, beamed ceiling and partitions, while combining a spirit and modern equipment to make you feel like at your house.

Perfect getaway
This was the perfect location to explore Normandy and all that area offers. Loved the apartment and Jean-Luc was so great at communicating and instructions. Loved the apartment. Great home base for visiting the D-Day Invasion area.
Port-en-Bessin in general, and this property specifically, is a great place from which to visit all the the D-Day memorial areas. It is located on the border between Omaha and Gold beaches, so that puts all of the main invasion beaches in easy reach. It’s a short drive to the Omaha beach memorial, the American Cemetery, and the Overlord Museum. Bayeau and Caen are close by, is is the last remaining German canon battery on Omaha Beach which still has its canons in place. We spent three nights at the property. Jean-Luc was very helpful and the place was immaculate. A great kitchen area, comfy bed and lots of history. Port-en-Bessain is a working fishing port, and if you’re there at the right time of day you can take advantage of the fresh catch of the day being unloaded. Lots of great restaurants and an amazing Boulangerie. It’s a 12 out of 10.

Great Apartment!
This is the cutest apartment. It has everything you need and is in a great location. The bed is comfortable and a great shower. There are tons of restaurants in town all very close. This is a great place to stay to see the Normandy beach sights. One thing to note is that there is no laundry facility, although the listing says coin machines. Probably not a big deal for most, but we were there as part of an extended trip and deliberately chose places with laundry facilities. Also, a rack or shelf in the shower for shampoo and soap would be great-but a very small thing.

Fabulous place to stay
What an ideal place to stay in Normandy to see the WW II sights! The apartment is just off the Main Street in Port en Bessin. Restaurants, shops and the harbor just steps from the door. The apartment is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 nights there. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to this area.

Fantastic location for exploring Normandy
Location, location, location! This apartment has it. A beautiful apartment with old French character but totally modern. Extremely comfortable. Loved being in the restaurant/shopping area. After spending our days exploring WW2 beaches it was nice to come back to the apartment, freshen up & walk to the restaurant of our choice. Evening strolls in the town were the best. Highly recommend staying here.

This little place was absolutely perfect for us. Jean-Luc welcomed us at arrival and explained about the property and town of Port En- Bessin with enthusiasm. The location is near EVERYTHING.. easy drive to all D-Day spots and near by cities of Bayeux & Caen. The town is quite and adorable. Had a fantastic stay.

Un superbe nid douillet dans ce joli port du Calvados. Un gîte splendide avec des hôtes charmants: tout est calibré au mm. C'est tellement topissime que l'on va revenir. la literie est excellente, l'accueil chaleureux, nous sommes encore sous le charme. Ne changez rien.

Fijne uitvalsbasis en voorzieningen in de buurt
Fijn verblijf gehad naast de galerij van Jean-Luc. Het appartement bezit alle benodigde voorzieningen en is een goede plek als uitvalsbasis voor de Calvados, Bayeux, Caen en de landingsbeaches. Het was even zoeken, maar uiteindelijk hebben we de auto heel goed op korte afstand van het appartement kunnen parkeren. Port-en-Bessin is leuk om door te slenteren en heeft leuke restaurants waar we heerlijk hebben gegeten. Ook zijn er wandelroutes rondom Port-en-Bessin, maar ook in de buurt. Er is een toeristenkantoor in het plaatsje zelf dichtbij het appartement. Ook in het appartement ligt informatie over de omgeving en folders wat er te ondernemen is. Jean-Luc is heel vriendelijk en gastvrij.
