Stayed here for an extended stay, mid January thru all of February. This home is an old school, well worn single floor dwelling. Of course like most homes in the area, it sits on stilts. You can pull your car under the house.
Our initial reaction upon entering was everything looked neat and tidy. All the bedrooms are on the left side of the home if you're facing the gulf. The right side has a small area with washer and dryer, then essentially the kitchen, dining area, and living room in one great room.
First bedroom has a king size bed that was comfortable. Guest bath could be accessed from this room and also an external door sharing a set of stairs with the home next door. This bath has a small walk-in shower and a single sink. Master bedroom and bath are next. Some other reviewers complained about the king bed here, but we didn't find it uncomfortable. The master bath has a full tub and shower, and two sinks. The third bedroom, which somehave reviewed is a little awkward. It connects to the master bedroom thru a set of double doors. It has another king bed. In addition there is an external door to the rear deck. So, anyone staying in that room would need to go thru the master or outside to the deck and enter thru the living room. It was just the two of us, so no big deal.
We were disappointed in some things that clearly need addressing. I would say if one was here for a week, you probably wouldn't notice or care. However, staying for 7 weeks things become more apparent, so here goes; internal and exterior doors that stuck and wouldn't lock, cracked, broken and loose floor tiles, mildew on master bath shower curtain, clogged sink in master bath, chair rungs broken or missing in dining area chairs, dirty dishes pots and pans put away, no scissors, no iron. I replaced at least 6 light bulbs. The vacuum was a clunky thing probably from the 80's and wasn't very good. The robot vacuum didn't do any better. Guest bathroom sink had a very steady drip until I tightened it up.
We communicated with the owner about the missing iron. We also mentioned that the microwave vent hood needed a light bulb and filter for the stove top. Lastly I mentioned the grill for the Weber cooker was rusty and needed replacing. It took a while before the owner responded, but nothing was done while we were there.
Would we go back? Yes, we were comfortable. Things mentioned could easily be resolved.
