A garden view hideaway in the Irvington neighborhood

Beautiful 1908 Craftsman home (Garden view basement apartment) in the heart of one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Portland! Beautiful historic end homes, gorgeous tree lined boulevards, wonderful people, and extremely close to many wonderful restaurants and shopping. Many wonderful and energetic neighborhoods surround Historic Irvington, but she is the Grand Dame of them all!

Irvington Neighborhood is on the national register of historic places, and it is very central. You can get anywhere in Portland within 10 minutes. A car is not absolutely necessary, walk to the MAX (transportation system - 10 minutes) and the bus line is around the corner. You are a 5-10 minute walk from literally 20 restaurants! 5 minutes walking to Lloyd Center and 8 minute walk to the Rose Quarter. Downtown is a 7 minute drive or 9 minutes on the MAX.

Your basement unit is almost 500 square feet and has been completely restored. The sofa folds down to sleep a total of 4.

Some vacation rentals in Portland operate illegally, but this house has the coveted 'Conditional Use' permit ( # 08-175882-000-00-LU)that the city requires in order to run a vacation rental for short term stays.

Our caretakers live onsite, tucked away in an apartment on the main level. Feel free to ask them for help at anytime.

This apartment is extremely well furnished, with everything you need to make your stay wonderful, giving you maximum comfort. Large windows ensure the unit is well lit, and a hydroponic heating system ensures warmth on cold nights. Stainless steel appliances, travertine countertops, wireless internet, a 55" flat screen TV, DVD player and a Bose Stereo give you the luxuries that you have in your own home! Your own illuminated, private entrance on the side of the house guarantees you complete privacy.

The backyard is available for the guests of this unit. It comes complete with an herb garden(for your cooking pleasure) pergola and built in stainless steel BBQ and sink. Enjoy Portland's weather in complete privacy.

A raised herb and vegetable garden on the south side of the house is available to you. We do have Security Cameras at Front door and looking out into the street and side yard. There are NO cameras inside the house or in the backyard.

You will get our personal recommendations for shopping, dining and activities and complimentary coffee and tea.

This is our part time home, and we absolutely love it. We guarantee you will feel the same. Come and be part of our family as you sample all that Irvington Neighborhood and Portland have to offer!

Lovely stay
I stayed here while attending a conference at the Oregon Convention Centre. It was a very easy and quick ride (one bus, 10 mins) on public transit to and from the Convention Centre. The apartment is in a basement and was clean and comfortable. It was very quiet except for one night when I could hear someone walking around upstairs early in the morning. It had all the amenities I needed - no dishwasher but I was one person and didn't cook or eat there much except for breakfast so that wasn't a big deal. The property owner was quick to respond to any questions I had. The neighbourhood was nice and felt safe, I walked around a fair amount.

Great neighborhood with many conveniences within walking distance. Everything we needed within the apartment. My only complaint was the neighbor’s sprinkler system which went off and beat on the bedroom window every morning at 5:20. Startled me when it went off and I couldn’t get back to sleep. Took me awhile to figure out what was happening!

Great location. Concrete floor. Bedroom was stuffy with poor circulation unless the door is open, which you'd rather not do with others sleeping on the pullout couch. Pullout couch is fine but no linens or blankets. When asked about it, owner blamed us for not calling for help, but it was very late. Then blame us for not reading the "Welcome email" from Vrbo. Nothing there. Scanned the code later. Not there. Kids slept without linen but found a blanket on the laundry floor. The "house rules" required renter to clean up the unit, which no other Vrbo host asks for. So what's the "service fee" and "host fees" for which doubles the upfront cost?

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Portland! You can walk to Moda Center if seeing a show and there are lots of nearby options for food within walking distance as well. Just a drive to check out other parts of Portland. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice spot in historic Irvington neighborhood with bus stop, coffee shops, restaurants, and brew pubs all within walking distance. Mark was incredibly responsive to all my questions. We enjoyed our stay- the location was convenient and the neighborhood was very nice and had several restaurants and businesses within walking distance. The check-in was straightforward and easy as well. Our only complaint was that the unit was not thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival- when we got to the unit we discovered trash under the bed, leftover food left in the freezer from a previous stay, and trash that had not made it in the bathroom trashcan as well- not a dealbreaker, but it did make us worry about what other corners were cut in the cleaning process! If the owner is using a professional service, they might want to think about using a different one!

My sister and I have nothing but great things to stay about this place. The space was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the appliances worked well, the location was great (so close to cute coffee shops, cafes and grocery stores) and the hosts were so helpful, kind and really helped make our stay a great one. They were quick to respond to any of our questions and so accommodating. If I'm ever in Portland again, I would absolutely stay here again.

Great, affordable space in a good location close to Moda Center
The property was mostly as described with the exception of walking distance to the Rose Quarter. We had come into town to watch the Trailblazers and picked the property since it was advertised an 8 minute walk. However, the actual walking distance was closer to 30 minutes. It's all good, exercise is welcomed, but this was a big part our decision to book. The property itself was in good condition and mostly clean, however there were some crumbs on the sofa where one of us slept and they were not made by us. Overall this is a good property to stay in if you want to be in the area and close enough to Moda Center to where you don't have to Uber.
