This is a beautiful historic hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The 4th floor room with the deck was amazing. Would definitely stay again when in Portland.

Location was great
Great location. We liked being able to walk around Old Port and not have to take the car and pay for additional parking. Parking here is valet only at $30 a night but is accessible 24 hrs. No free breakfast is offered. They have a restaurant inside that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel itself was older but fairly well kept. They give you traditional heavy keys instead of key cards which was kind of annoying to carry around. Lastly, our air conditioning did not work. No cold air would come out, even after asking the front desk to reset it, the temperature did not change. It was uncomfortable to have to sleep in a 74 degree room 2 nights in a row. The only good thing is they did provide us with box fans to help, which did make it a little better. We were not told about this at first, but they do have free water bottles near the entrance that you can have. Overall, it was an okay stay, but would not stay here again due to the air conditioning issues.

The hotel is in a historic building with a nice charm. Unfortunately the fitness center is locked in with the spa so is only accessible 8 am to 6 pm which is very limited for athletic travelers who need some flexibility. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed.
