Nice hotel, but no outdoor seating for any of its restaurant/cafe options. The Buttery nearby was great, but only open until 5. We found only one vegetarian-friendly restaurant with outdoor seating in the area for dinner, and ate there every night—COVID was surging when we were there so we didn’t want to risk eating inside and for not-great food.

A Carolina boy in Limerick
I was upgraded to a room on the 7th floor from the balcony of which King John's Castle and the Shannon were visible. Everything was perfect, all the employees friendly and attentive. The room-cleaners were incredibly fast and unobtrusive.The bartenders in the bar downstairs were especially good company.

While the hotel was nice and the restaurant/bar and executive lounge were great, the hotel is popular with locals for special events (weddings, etc). This combined with the door closers slamming the doors, and 1" gaps at the bottom of the doors made for very loud and disruptive mornings and late evenings past midnight as people went to and fro between their and their friend's room, some trying to throw after event parties, etc. So, nice romantic and quiet place - no not really at all.
