Please Read this! Our family are frequent travelers (3-5 trips per year) and we all agree that there was enough deficiencies that this property is at best a 3.5 - 4 star property & experience. Beach was 2/10. Unusable due to rocks, seaweed, aggressive birds and shallow water. Literally, not swim able. This was so far below the “Hyatt” standards it wasn’t even funny. Service at the specialty restaurants was painfully bad. Think 2 hour two course meals with wine arriving 1 hour after ordering your “specialty” ripe off wine. That’s when it was actually available. 2/10 Lunch was low quality crap. Similar offerings to a 3.5-4 star Cuban all inclusive resort. Cold burger patties, hot dog wieners, pathetic pizzas, fake cheese nachos…. Need I say more “Hyatt”. 3 of our family members experienced two days of food poisoning including myself. Saving grace was the hotel room, gym (fitness center) and some brand name adult beverages. This was “high” season that we experienced this. Dec 19-27, 2024. Overall, this experience was completely overpriced for the quality of the experience. Majestic, Royalton, Riu, Iberostar are far better 4.5 - 5 star options. We all departed unsatisfied. Never again Hyatt!

Very limited dining options, same food just different restaurants. Over 1.5 waits for all dinner options. Buffet had the same thing morning, lunch and dinner. Hotel rooms very humid, the tiles were always dewy and slippery every couple hours. Could be more cleaner

The rooms and buildings are great. Very spacious rooms. Lots of dining options (French, Italian, Japanese/Asian, Mexican, and others). Restaurant staff take food allergies very seriously. Concierge and other staff are very friendly and helpful. Daily evening entertainment was enjoyable. The only problem is that the area is secluded and it is not easy/possible to walk along the beach to nearby areas. Vans/buses for yours take a long time to go from one hotel to another because of the nature of the road connections. There is not much of a beach but there are lots of pools.

We were impressed by the resort's efforts to preserve the beach area despite the challenges posed by nature. The staff worked hard, often by hand, to maintain the resort. We had great service and good food and drinks. Everyone was friendly and willing to help. The swim-up bar had the best daily drink specials, even for non-alcoholic drinks. Room maintenance requests were fixed within the day when done via their app, and our butler, Didier, was very helpful when we request for his assistance. The entertainment team was friendly, but activity updates were inconsistent. We enjoyed the different dining options, with La Parrilla and Rue de Rivoli being our favorites. The pools were a great alternative when the ocean was off-limits. The only downside was the pushy timeshare presentation during check-in.

Didnt like that it shut restaurants down each night a different restaurant wasnt open. Bar shuts down at 11, nowhere to go and nothing to do after that. Beach was terrible, very rocky and small. Staff were friendly but service wasnt very good, except for Ernesto at the bar, he was great.

Ended up getting covid not the resorts fault but i did not see much cleaning.1 pool heated rest not so only one pool was behing used.the sports club was freezing and we ordered food it was colder that the club.

I saw the reviews which mentioned that this Hyat ziva Rivera have lake instead of ocean I was upset but when I went things were so different! Beautiful ocean view! Staff was very nice; everyday different food options in Buffet. Asian restaurant(Mikayo) manager was super nice and very professional. GERADO was there for us whenever we needed anything. Had so many food options. As a Muslim family they didn’t see us differently they were nice. They accommodated us with food and separate utensils! I wish they had halal options but they had lots of fish options. My kids loved it and so do I! I came with really beautiful memories which I will cherish forever.

This is a great resort, I would go back… the staff are amazing, lots of pool choices and never a problem finding a spot, drink service around the pools was great, food was really good with a lot of variety and even a lot of gluten free options, only downside is the beach area but that’s not the resorts fault, can’t stop Mother Nature.

Service was excellent. The staff was very friendly, and they tried their best to make us feel welcomed. The problem is the condition of the access road. The hotel is located in between a mangrove and the beach, therefore when it rains, the road gets flooded, and it’s in need of repair. In fact, the Hyatt corporation as well as all the hotels located in that area should invest in building an overpass seating on pillars. Otherwise, the road will always have problems no matter how many times they try to fix it. The beach also needs additional maintenance because it shows erosions.

It was an overall terrible experience! Went there to celebrate my birthday and was unhappy the whole time! Food selection was not only limited but served cold! It was as if it had sat for a while before it was served. It was super noisy I. The morning and we are talking about staff yelling accross the hallways slamming doors and just banging on walls!! All this super early in the morning! There was no real all inclusive experience as we had to come out of pocket for fine dining which was not the case at the Ziva in Cancun! I will NEVER stay at Ziva Riviera again nor will I recommend to anyone! Very unhappy totally ruined my birthday week!

My friends and I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Ramirez during our stay at Hyatt Ziva Riviera, and we can’t say enough great things about him! Ramirez is not just a bartender, he’s a true master of his craft. Every drink he made for us was perfection and he introduced us to our new favourite shot- mini beers! Beyond his skills, Ramirez’s warmth, charisma, and genuine passion for hospitality made every interaction we had with him memorable. Every night we looked forward to seeing Ramirez, he always greeted us with a smile, remembered our favourite drinks, and went out of his way each night to ensure we all had an incredible experience. His professionalism and positive energy made our vacation that much better. We thank you Ramirez, for making our trip unforgettable!
