Loving life at La Posada Pacifica
This is our second stay at La Posada Pacifica. We love it and hope to return again and again. This is an excellent location for our preferred vacation, which includes lots of opportunities to hike and travel by bus to neighboring areas exploring. We hop on the bus and go to Puerta Vallarta or Mismaloyor or El Tuito to restaurants. This location is so central, that iseasy to travel by bus or water taxi. We come to Boca to take a slower pace in life. We enjoy the views from the balcony of our open air suite. The suite is shaded for most of the day and we love the view of the Riveria del Rio, the Sierra Madre mountains, and Banderas Bay. We sit and can experience the simple life in Boca from our balcony. Unfortunately the bridge across the river was destroyed in a hurricane and Boca is busier with cars than we remember, but neither affected the enjoyment of our stay. Cynthia, Pierre and Antoine are the perfect hosts, and it's reassuring to know they are always available if needed. If you want to relax and enjoy travelling on the local bus and making your own experiences, then I highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful month in Boca!
My husband and I just spend a month in Boca de Tomatlan. The accommodations were perfect for us. We loved the hiking trails, beaches, and local bus accessibility to Puerto Vallerta and other surrounding towns. Thank you Cynthia & Pierre to make our stay memorable. See you next year! Perfect spot!
We visited Boca for 5 days and would have stayed longer. We loved the breezy balcony and open rooms at the Posada, and enjoyed getting to cook our own meals. Boca was a fun spot to explore - our young daughter could play in the stream every day, and it was easy to hop on a bus or boat to nearby spots for adventures. The hosts were always helpful! Thank you.

Great spot for stayover
We needed a one night stay before catching a water taxi to Los Chonchos. This property was the perfect answer for us. The listing was accurate, Cynthia and her family were very helpful with our bags at check-in and check-out. It was easily accessible to the local restaurants for dinner and the pier to get the water taxi the next morning. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well, and the room had a nice view to the river. Thank you for a great start to our vacation.

A Different Sort of Experience
I want to just say good things, but there were a few that were not. This place is hard to find as a first timer. Although we were given directions, it was still confusing. It was surprising to find that there is a precarious, makeshift bridge to cross with luggage. There is also a swinging cable-plank bridge, but there is no longer a concrete bridge. Boca has its charm, but is chaotic and dusty and confusing on the weekends, if you happen to arrive there like we did. Our posada was okay, but for instance the pans were old and had no lids. Beds very soft. There are not any little kindnesses there like salt, sugar or cooking oil, but maybe that is due to Covid. No toiletries provided. The toilet itself had a seat too small for the stool, which could be dangerous for a bigger person, and was annoying to say the least. The owners need to completely update their information packet and perhaps their online info too. Cynthia was helpful when asked for info. We had no interaction other than that, but would have liked to. It was nice that they let us use the laundry, such as it is. The laundry and the room next to it with the books could use a good cleaning. The vibe is very chill, which is good, but the FYI, environment is loud, with roosters, dogs, vehicles and boom boxes blaring. Viva Mexico! We enjoyed the hike to Las Animas, but be warned that it is difficult and somewhat dangerous. The waiters at the beach cafes were wonderfully kind. We loved the Jardin Botanico de Vallarta. All in all, it was okay, but my opinion is that this hotel is expensive for what it is. We have traveled extensively and have stayed in many types of situations in many countries, including other parts of Mexico, and we are not looking for luxury or special treatment by any means. We love nature and the outdoors, so this seemed the right place. We purposely look for little posadas like this one, as we are not the all-inclusive resort types and generally enjoy local ambience. I am just giving my personal opinion of the experience, as someone who has stayed in a variety of situations. I hope the owners will take it as constructive criticism, and not personally! I do thank them for providing the opportunity to visit Boca de Tomatlan.

Experience of a Lifetime!
My husband, myself, our two young boys, and two dogs, stayed at this wonderful hotel for one month. The location is amazing, overlooking the river, surrounded by lush vegetation and flowers. The beach is just minutes away, which made it so easy to take my boys swimming everyday. Just a 5 minute walk across the bridge, you will find little shops and a convenience store with everything you need. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of character with spacious units. Every unit has a balcony overlooking the river, bringing a fresh cool breeze inside, which we just loved. Sitting on our balcony was one of our favourite things to do during our stay. The beds were super comfortable! The unit was nicely decorated, furnished and very clean. We truly felt like home while we were there! The owners, Cynthia, Pierre and their son Antoine, were simply amazing. They were very friendly, kind, generous, and made us feel so welcome! They constantly went over and above to make us feel at home. Although the location in Boca De Tomatlan, as well as the gorgeous hotel were paradise on earth for our family, it was the owners who truly made our stay extra special. Thank you so much, Cynthia, Pierre and Antoine, for giving us the vacation of a lifetime, and for treating us like family! We will definitely come back!

Experience the “real Mexico” in Boca de Tomatlan
Exactly what I was looking for & as expected for price range $ Clean rooms, big balconies from all units over looking river/ town surrounded by jungle. Good fridge, ate out as lots of good options on beach . FYI. Property is located directly across the river bridge, which is also the only access:) Panga boat departure location for water related ocean excursions & close to Vallarta Botanical Gardens . Owner very helpful with booking changes , locals very friendly, excellent hiking trail to fab beaches accessible right in front of property . PV Bus stop at town entrance. Car parking somewhat of a nightmare! Loved our adventures in Boca!

Great Property, Great Owner
Cynthia and her son were great! Very helpful and personable. The room & property were very clean and very nice. Our room did not have air conditioning but we did not miss it at all. The breeze in the evenings was perfect. Great location overlooking the river and a quick walk to the beach and town. Boca is a great little village and Boutique Hotel Posada is the perfect spot. We definitely plan on staying with Cynthia again.

Very nice Mexican style hotel in Authentic Mexican village
We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas and this is the place to do it. The hotel is very well kept up, the owners are very friendly and the place is kept very clean. My only critique would be the online details, they are quite outdated. We were looking for a place with air conditioning which the online listing said it had but there were fans instead. The checkout times listed are wrong and the right time is listed in the checkout details, and unfortunately there is no rooftop restaurant like the one mentioned in the listing. I think the listing needs to be updated, however now knowing the property itself, we would most certainly stay there again.

Peaceful stay!
Staying here was great. We had an awesome view of the river and it was a very short walk to the beach and town. We enjoyed the spacious accommodation. Having a kitchen was also a plus. The neighbors were very friendly and we definitely felt very safe when we left on day trips. We hope to come back and visit again. I would love to bring my grandkids next time. I think they would love the view and the water. Thank you Cynthia for your hospitality!

We will do it again and again!
My husband and I were very happy here. Perfect efficiency apartment. Our room had air conditioning but wasn't always necessary. Cynthia and staff were very helpful, and made you feel right at home. It is a great spot to stop if you are traveling south on #200. It will be an overnight mini vacation. We stayed 4 days, went fishing with Beto from Quimixto and enjoyed beach. Then we relaxed with great river view from our balcony. We are both 73. The staff helped with luggage, and it was no problem for us. Rooms are on the second and third floor. Yes, we would do it again.

Perfect stay in this charming fishing village.
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in the PV area, and this was our first stop. Cynthia is wonderful, flexible and helpful, and this little apartment was charming and so comfy--a great and comfortable bed too. Boca de Tomatlan is not the place for those who seek the "all inclusive" Mexico hotel experience ... and that's why we loved staying here. From Hotel Posada, it's a fun hike to Los Colomitos beach and even to the beaches beyond. It's also an easy bus ride to the botanical gardens which were amazing--and huge! We would ocme back here in a heartbeat. Thank you, Cynthia!

Had a great stay, Cynthia was fantastic, very helpful and full of local knowledge. The rooms were clean and spacious. The roof top deck was amazing unfortunaly we were to busy to spend much time there. It is somewhat remote and there is no nightlife, which for us was a plus and one of the reasons we chose the location. We would defiantly stay again when in the area.

Great place to get away from PV and experience the real Mexico
The visit at Posada Pacifica was much too short. The location idyllic. Cynthia and Pierre gave us some good advice for dinner at Los Conos on the hike to Las Animas, then let us use the kayaks for the day to explore the coast. We paddled over 4 miles up a ways past Mahajuitas, and found some incredible snorkeling - and encounters with porpoises and some really big fish along the way. Check out the stars from the roof deck at night. We will be back!

We had a lovely stay with our two dogs enjoying the quiet life in Boca and visiting smaller villages by water taxi. If you are interested in snorkeling, try Majahuitas by water taxi-there are NO services so take water, sunscreen and lunch if you want to spend the day. we made lots of use our of the roof top terrace which has a great view of the river and the bay .

Relaxing Oasis
What a beautiful place to stay. Everything was as advertised and more. The room was clean and in good repair, the bed was comfortable. It was easy to communicate with Cynthia if we needed anything, and she was a great resource for activities in the area. She even found a way to accommodate us when I made a mistake in our booking. The area is just the right combination of quiet and scenic with easy access (by a climb up the hill and bus) to Puerto Vallarta, the Botanical Garden and really anything else, or by water taxi to beaches South. This location works best if you plan to prepare your own meals after 6pm or bus to town, as all but the taco stands close early.

Fantastic jungle getaway on the ocean
We had a great stay at La Posada! Only a short 8 peso bus ride from PV, it was an amazing getaway nestled between the river and the mountains. We walked down the hill into the town and crossed a cement pedestrian bridge that led us directly to the cute yellow hotel. We received a warm welcome from Cynthia and chatted for a bit before she took us to our room on the second floor. It's was awesome, the pictures don't do it justice, and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette had all you need (two hot burners, toaster oven, microwave, coffee machine & a full sized fridge). The balcony offered a great view of the town, river and the mountains. Nearby were some amazing hiking trails to different beaches along the shore. We also easily visited the botanical gardens by taking a 16 peso bus. This was an amazing little gem that we found and would come back for sure, they even have kayaks for rent at a very reasonable price. The internet is really weak here, so it is a great place to be unplugged and away from it all, yet more than close enough to take day trips into PV should you need anything. There also is an amazing rooftop patio! Definitely recommended!

Lovely unit, priced nicely, fantastic owner
We arrived at the hotel, were met by the owner's son, and he was great at getting us to our room, and making sure we were comfortable. He even helped us with a couple of places we could get lunch. The owner, Cynthia, arrived shortly thereafter, and came up to the room to meet us. She is a very kind and considerate person, she gave us info about things to do in the immediate area as well as other places on our trip. The room was spacious, well appointed with everything one needs. For dinner, Cynthia allowed us to use the rooftop and grill to cook our Tilapia. The view from the rooftop is spectacular. You can gaze left to the ocean, and right to the hills and trees. We loved our time there and would not hesitate to return; as a matter of fact, we are looking forward to it. Thank you Cynthia, for everything.

Clean and gorgeous, pics don't do it justice!
Place was right on the river and less than 5 minute walk to everything. It's much nicer and bigger, much brighter than the pictures. It was incredibly clean and a great value for the money. The owner Cynthia was great, super friendly and very accommodating. She reached out before our trip with directions, which was great because we had no cell service once we landed in a Mexico. Seriously wish we just stayed in Boca the whole time, thanks Cynthia! We stayed one night on our way to Yelapa and paid more in Yelapa for a dirty, grungy, run down place that wasn't even on the water.
