Canto Del Sol is generally very good but dated. Close to shopping and the Centro area. The staff were great. The food is mainly Mexican fare, if you don't like mexican food this is not the place for you. There are specialty restaurants and they were excellent, especially the Italian restaurant. There were a lot of kids at the hotel, so if you are adverse to loud noises and swimming with kids, this place is not for you. We vacationed there in late November 2024

Rooms a bit run down. Food was alright. Specially restaurants were a unique and enjoyable aspect. Cevicheria for lunch in mountain area was tasty! Beautiful main area!

Multiple issues with room front desk, staff nor manager did anything to remedy the situations. Guestroom commode was broken for three days instead of switching rooms or fixing it. They gave us a plunger. Food terrible, speciality restaurants had no open reservation.

A family destination, lots of children, not as many staff able to converse in English. I have food allergies and it was difficult to get information about the food being served. I simple ate what I knew was safe but I would have liked to try more Mexican cuisine. I like being in the city and having beach access.

Have been to Canto numerous times and it is wonderful. However it’s showing its age…beds were ok and room very basic, but not there to sit in room all day. Would enjoy the fridge with a few drinks left in it, especially on Villa side where bar closes at 5. - a La carts were good - buffet was also good, limited selection at breakfast and can get quite busy - beach cafe was good - service is EXCELLENT - from servers and baggage handlers - the restaurant in the Villas was closed due to fire, would have been good to know - Villa side pool is great, would suggest making it adult only - evening entertainment was better than in past. Some Canadian travellers need to learn some manners when watching a show Area around Canto is walkable and safe. Would we return…yes but would like to see management be more attentive to return guests. Weather - almost always guaranteed!!!

I’ve stayed here a few times. Each time has been fine. Nothing great but it’s near the water, price is right, and it’s convenient. This time however, was my worst stay yet. Showed up to a check in line around the lobby. Nobody knew what they were doing at the counter. At one point the lady next to me was having an issue and the manager helping me finish check in stopped checking me in to assist her co worker in helping the lady next to me. She was almost done with my check in and now I had to wait longer instead of just finishing up with me and then helping. Upon check out, same thing. Line around the lobby just to have them cut my bracelet. Heard others complaining about recent nightmares friends of theirs had been having at canto. So, I’d say if you have an option, stay elsewhere

its an all inclusive resort but everyone wanted a tip for everything even though gratuities were included. the al a carte restaurants were great but the buffet was limited and very busy. otherwise it was a decent place worthwhile and we would stay again

I must say the employees are fantastic , The resort is very clean. The food could use some improvement maybe a few less Mexican dishes at each meal, in the buffett. Make the buffet easer for people to get their food, Waiting in a line up for 15 minutes to get hot pasta dish made, is not acceptable. A toaster for breakfast would be great. you should get facecloths in your room and not have to ask for them every other day.

The front desk staff were horrible. More eager to help locals. The rooms are same as I remember which is good but the food is horrible. We ate out every night so it was an added expense. I will never stay here again. I am not hard to please but very disappointed.

Very good property. Would go back again. Only thing overall 5 stars across board other than the food and I’d give that a 4. Good place to stay. Would recommend to anyone really.
